What I would do is make the curvature of her torso more exaggerated, Thinner waist, wider hips, maybe make it even bit longer. And stretch the legs bit longer and shrink the head just a lil bit. Love her head and face!

You're not bad, your picture is just boring. I'm really /beg/ so I'll try to explain. You are trying to draw action but your figure is very much stuck on the same frame. the way I see it would be to draw the figure going from white square to out of it, the way you do this is by making the figure jump out of frame.
Idk if I'm explaining it well, think of it as a door, if you stay away from the doorframe but you can be seen as a whole inside it looks dull and plain, if you were near the doorframe and reaching your arms outside the door frame it would look dynamic

>>
Is this really the /beg/ thread? This doesn’t feel like a proper /beg/ thread. It feels like one of those cheap Disney knock-off movies that you’d find in the bargain bin at Wal Mart.
>>
Should I get back into drawing after I stopped for a year even tho people in the past called me NGMI, a shit artist, insulted me even more than the average /beg/ poster and told me I should just quit art? I really want to start drawing and eventually become a professional but all those bad memories are still present.

Ask yourself why would you seek validation from /ic/. Is /v/ ever right on videogames? Is /tv/'s views on television and film spot on? There's a reason why when other boards discuss drawing they recommend /ic/'s sticky for resources but to never ever participate in the threads.

>>5751724
do you like drawing? if yes, then do it
>>
>>5751758
But if other boards are so wrong about their own subject matter than that means maybe you SHOULD participate in the threads if they’re saying not to.
>>
>>5751764
It doesnt work like that. We both know how encouraging and helpful /ic/ is. Sure, there are some sane anons who know how to give critique and feedback but majority of /ic/ users aren't like that.

there isn't much variation between the light tones and the dark ones, and the dark tones are applied like a drop-shadow without a distinct light source, bounce light, or showing underlying forms or cast shadows

basically I'm saying if you exaggerated the lighting the figure would have more depth, I am not good at this and probably more beg than you are but hopefully this shows what I mean? light/shadow makes forms look more as if they're coming forwards or going backwards

Does practicing traditionally really help you learn faster than practicing digitally?
>>
>>5752088
get back to where you once belonged
>>
Is there a free program I can use to use the images in my folder for figure drawing
>>
>>5752101
In a way yes, drawing traditionally has none of the QOL digital provides and you will develop a lot of good habits that will improve the overall quality of your work as long as you know what you are doing.

That being said just because you started/mastered drawing traditionally it doesn't mean that you can automatically perform as good as you were when you draw digitally, starting on trad just gives you a bit more of an edge over someone who starts fresh on digital.

>>5752793
It seems like you don't understand VPs that well, or at least, you understand them and then ignore them.

If you want to learn, draw a horizon line, mark a vanishing point in the center of the horizon line and draw boxes based on that VP. Make sure your horizontals are horizontal and your verticals are vertical, the other set of 3 lines should be converging towards the VP. This is 1 point perspective.

Work on your line confidence too while doing this, move onto 2 point perspective when you feel comfortable: Draw horizon line, a VP on either side of the page (later you can move one off the page to make the boxes more natural), make sure your verticals are vertical, and you're off.

>>
>>5753347
I can't fix them though. I can't seamlessly connect lines. I can draw perfect curves that aren't wobbling. I cannot draw perfect straight lines. I cannot make lines interesting. Character isn't grounded on ground plane, character is not grounded in perspective. I can't render using flat colours. I can't render using paint. I can't draw background or foreground. I cannot do composition. I cannot shade or put highlights. I cannot draw attractive face, hands or in case of this image pussy. I cannot draw hair. I can't redraw elements, because I don't know how they are supposed to look right, I only know they are incorrect. I don't know how to use software properly or how exactly the workflow looks like. I draw to slowly: 3 hours for awful sketch. Two hours for awful lineart. And then I just basically gave up because I didn't eat or drink the whole time and I wanted to go to sleep.

I don't know what to do. I spend more than week doing anatomy with proko and manga materials and i feel like I learned absolutely nothing. I only know I do things wrong and that I am retarded because I can't fix them. Amazing feeling.

>>
>>5753465
Hey if it makes you feel any better, I feel the exact same things about myself.

Love to spend 2 hours agonizing over a sketch that's nevertheless rougher than sandpaper that still looks like shit and I'm physically incapable of fixing it. Then I watch some tutorial to try and learn something and the artist draws in 30 seconds something better than I could do in hours and says "just do this". Then /ic/ tells me not to grind fundamentals and to just draw, but I try and draw and it takes me 15 minutes to make what's still the worst ever Loomis head, and an hour of redoing lines over and over later none of the drawing has gotten any better or any closer to what I wanted to make.

You're right I should've worded it better, I also shouldn't have assumed they bothered w/ learning construction by now

This way. Tho take great note that a it's a very minimal twist. The main rotation is caused by the movement of the shoulder trough the rotation of the clavicle, and a majority of the muscle mass follows. You can clearly see in the reference his ribcage is rather far back, but the musculature follow the flexing of the left shoulder. You did get the right shoulder ok tho, props for that one

There's three guidelines, one rule.
Three guidelines:
>Try to be mindful of negative space (the silouhettes of the objects)
>Use different parts of the image as reference for other parts: "If this person's arm comes down to here, and their pecs are halfway down their arm, then I should draw the pecs here"
>Be mindful of the rotation of objects relative to others, and if need be, break it down into basic shapes to help with perspective

One rule:

>So anatomy is basically worthless for drawing clothed people unless they're ripped?

Depends on your level you wanna work at. You can just, build up a visual library of the shape of limbs if you keep it simple/stylized, but if you want anithing more still gotta grind. Keep in mind that regardless of fitness level, the arms and legs are comprised of just muscle, and fat (that also should be studied in itself)

Did you check the OP? It has some info. Check out any of:
Eviston, Hampton, Vilppu, Brunet.

Maybe do Eviston's basic drawing (you can find it on skillshare. Go sign up for a trial month/get 3 months from some promo) and then move on to his figure drawing or any of the others. Proko is good for anatomy reference, more so than his figure drawing course though it can be helpful.

Then you also must commit to drawing everyday - you will get gains. Do these simultaneously: 1) Draw what you feel is fun, 2) Study and increase your skill, 3) Work towards some type of long-term project/goal

This is a quick (and shitty) mock up, but consider perspective. I went based off of the position of her shoulders. Her whole body is below the horizon line. So like >>5754283 said, her left leg is out of perspective. It needs to be further back and above the ground plane.

The viewers eye level is above her, imagine what it would look like if you were standing and someone else was kneeling.
