Last day of clip studio sale.Currently i'm using a pirated version of CSP (1.11.8). Is it worth it to upgrade and go legit? What features have been added, any performance improvements?
>>6837568>What features have been added>He needs more than 3 default brushes and 3 layers
CSP 2.0 requires an active internet connection, as it contacts a central server on startup. had i known this i wouldn't have paid for the upgrade.keep your pirated version
>>6837600there's a pirated version 2.0 too. i wonder if that is better.but in terms of upgrades, is there anything notable? have they still not added better hardware support?
PIRATE ALWAYS PIRATE NEVER PAY A DIME STOP BEING A PHONEPOSTING ILLITERATE ZOOMER
>>6837568I'm not considering updating until version 3, since I have to pay a subscription to get updates, and my version 1 is already updated to almost what version 2 is.>>6837600>CSP 2.0 requires an active internet connectionI recall they allowed for a certain amount of startups offline. I know it's still not great (it's dogshit in fact), but it's incorrect to say that you need to have an internet connection every time you use CSP now.
>>6837568If you have money, it's whatever. If you're a poorfag, pirate all the way because who cares lol
>>6837600Why, WHY does every fucking thing have to be online? Just let me use what I paid for you faggots
Any good links to download this for free?
>>6837638>Why, WHY does every fucking thing have to be online? Just let me use what I paid for you faggots>>6837638DRM bullshit funny thing is that it never fucking works cracked copies usually appear within 2 to 3 months every time a new piece of software is released.just go for open source alternatives like krita bro anybody who engages in degenerate business practices like this doesn't deserve a single shekel.
>>6837626>If you have money, it's whatever.Estupid Zoomer
>>6837698If these companies are trying to discourage me from choosing to pirate, they're not doing a very good job
>>6837568>any performance improvements?this is the only thing i care about since csp is dirt slow sometimes. apparently, no from what i heard
>>6837722>If these companies are trying to discourage me from choosing to pirate, they're not doing a very good jobThe problem is that almost every single mainstream company employs data harvesting DRM and anti repair bullshit nowadays this is why despite myself having religious abjections to stealing I won't shed a single tear for corpo's getting what they deserve greedy fucking wankers.
>>6837729>this is the only thing i care about since csp is dirt slow sometimes. apparently, no from what i heardyes it's part of the reason I switched to krita I have no idea what causes it too even my old pc shouldn't take 15 to 20 minutes to start a program.
>>6837568is there a good reason to switch from krita?I'm so used to it I started to make my own brushes and I triet csp in the past but I found it to be a bit unintuitive
Anyone have recommendations for alternatives? Only thing I'm after is the fisheye ruler honestly. The whole need to connect to their server is a deal breaker for me. Shit feels like buying a movie from blockbuster but then you have to go to their store to play it.
>>6838033Krita has a fish eye lens I believe, Lot of programs these day have some sort of built-in ruler system.
I got csp a few months ago but it just feels clunky and slow even though I have a good pc. I try to give it an honest shot every so often but I always go back to sai
>>6837568>What features have been added, any performance improvements?I just got it for the align tools.Ridiculous it took until 2.0 to get align tools.Other than that, CSP has always been a great program.
>>6837698CSP is the only software I have issues with pirating. I tried everything for android.
>>6837707It's okay to pirate anon. You dont need some randoms blessing for it.
>>6837735>Using meme apps like Krita
I have free keys I got from Wacom tablet purchases but everyone on this board was an asshole to me, so now I'm gonna take it out on you and not give you any
>>6838356Good. Take those keys and shove it in your dogs mouth.
>>6838356epic :)
>>6838301align tools?
>>6838373>align tools?yeah, tool that aligns objects (like if you want to center some shapes). Every major graphics program has had align for years, CSP is late to the game.
krita is dogshit software only used by seething linux trannies that can't run anything else worth running.
I don't care about 2.0, but I might care about 3.0I wonder if Celsys will allow me to upgrade.
>>6838442Craig Mullins uses some krita too
>>6838033Paint tool sai
>>6837735In my experience CSP is better for inking, it's better at handling big files and it crashes less often.
>>6838033Sai/Krita are the best ones. Maybe Gimp is good too. Photoshop is faggy shit that is just forced by employers so artists just deals with it.
>wake up today>sale has been extendedlol wat. that's cheating.
>>6838442"Paint below was done in KRITA. YOU NEED TO GET KRITA. Painting in PS is like driving a Camry about. Krita is like a Formula 1. Not speed, but precision and expression. It has been developed for about 15 years for exactly that-painting. I wish it DID had the speed and ability"https://twitter.com/craigmullins3/status/1535763083313876993
>>6837568Is 2.0 worth it to get? It doesn't really seem like it...
>>6838356Based wacomguzzler.
>>6838950As someone who has 2.0.... Nope.Pirate it if you want. Wait till 2.2 or 2.3 or whatever. Current improvements are miniscule to the pricetag.
>>6838948Lost respect for Craig when he came out as pro-AI
>>6837604>there's a pirated version 2.0Sauce me up bro?
>>6839030source?
>>6839025I thought so. Thanks for the heads up.
>>6839088Yes there is but it is full of Win64 Trojan viruses
>>6838948Horrible analogy. Formula 1 would be horrible at almost everything but in a racing track. I expected more from a professional. And Krita isn't even the one for that title. That'll be more fitting to SAI. Using Krita is like using Honda Accord instead of driving a Camry, and using a Camry is like using GIMP, since both of them are 'economical'. Using Photoshop is like driving a Tesla with autopilot.
>>6839188>Horrible analogy. Formula 1 would be horrible at almost everything but in a racing track.I mean, doesn't that make sense though if you were racing though? Krita just focuses on being good at one thing (art) instead of being a jack of all trades like Photoshop.
Does anyone know which type of card I'm supposed to use for the purchase to go through? Last sale it declined all of my fucking cards. Some anons told me it has to be a VISA card because Japs prefer that or something?
>>6838948okay I'm a boomer and I know this must be a stupid fucking question but why do I see nothing but the tweet? I don't use twitter but on the rare occasion I want to go look at something the image is never there and I don't see any way to see it. Am I blind or just stupid?
>>6839943He continued his text on a reply and posted the actual painting in said reply
>>6837638That's why you pirate
>>6839913Yeah, you must use Visa now, mastercard aint supported no more in most (japanese) sites.
>>6839297But Krita isnt even 'that' good for the one thing it claims to be. That title is more for SAI/SAI2. I guess you could say it's a souped up Civic instead of a Camry.
>>6837568Used it for 2 years and went back to krita.
>>6840325Sai is so obscure that nobody can even back up their claims about how supposedly good it is.
>>6838759Literal who?
>paying for updates dark times
>>6840446>People don't even know what SAI is anymoreDamn, that's depressing, but SAI was the most popular art program back in the 10s. It was known for it's stabilizers and having the best blending of any art program, and for being really easy to use so someone who had never used a computer to draw before could understand it (there's a reason why it's full name is EASY Paint Tool SAI). It's also very lightweight to the point you can run it on windows XP and not experience lag. It's basically perfect but is held back by the fact that actually paying for it confuses people and that it relies entirely on word of mouth. It is however very worth to try for yourself, you might like it better than CSP or Krita.
>>6840699I know what sai is, the term sai baby didn't just spring up from nowhere. Using high stabilizers was always a thing because saibabies can't into coordination. Autoblend colors because saibabies can't blend any other way. Saibaby layermodes that blow the fuck out of the values like lumi because they can't into subtly. Despite being overall shit at having tools for making art, (such as not even a fucking gradient tool) saibabies clung onto it for their crutches and now wormed their crutches into other programs. You can't find a modern art program without the saibaby stabilizer anymore. The only thing it did better was low memory footprint, and would still crash if your file went too high. No autosave either, so fuck you
>>6840925>Despite being overall shit at having tools for making art, (such as not even a fucking gradient tool) SAI 2 has this>No autosave eitherSAI 2 has this as well>Saibaby layermodes that blow the fuck out of the values like lumi because they can't into subtly.SAI 2 also has most of the Photoshop blending modes, so if you keep using layer modes you don't like I don't know what to tell you. No one is forcing you to use high stabilizers either. Frankly none of what you said sound like negatives against SAI, but against how other people use it. It's fine to criticize bad habits, but that's not the fault of the program.
>>6841164>Sai2too little too late, faggot should have updated more than once a decade. I know people who started on Sai and moved onto Krita, Clip or Paintstorm if they didn't want to use Photoshop
>>6841206SAI 2 began development in 2011. Only 3 years after the original. It's still being updated with the most recent being july. What is this argument? I already said that it relies mostly on word of mouth, so really the fault is that the developer should advertise more, not any real problem with SAI itself.
>>6841212Faggot
>>6837605>>6837654The little problem with pirated CSP 2.0 is that it is full of viruses, there is still no acceptable crack.
>>6841249>SAI in 2008>SAI 2 in 2011>Newest update to SAI 2 is july 11, 2023This doesn't disprove anything I said
>>6841286The beta access to sai2 wasn't even until 2022 you fucking retarded sainigger.
>>6841298Since 2013 actually. I've personally been using it since 2019. Try again
>>6841267t. scaremongering phoneposting toddlerYOU'RE THE REASON CORPORATIONS ARE STILL MAKING MONEY OUT OF SUBSCRIPTION PLANS ALWAYS PIRATE NEVER PAY NEVER EVER DRAW WITH A ROCK IF YOU MUST
>>6841298What the fuck are you talking about, I've been using SAI2 for a decade now, with gradients, text tool, new blending modes, autosave and overall better performance than before. It's funny you'd call SAI a crutch software when the only reason to move out of SAI is that it doesn't have enough advanced features (crutches, according to you) that more advanced software have, such as color correction, liquify, custom brush behavior, grids, 3D posing...The only thing SAI truly lacks is an animation workflow.
>>6841267>The little problem with pirated CSP 2.0 is that it is full of virusesproof? how do you know your copy is filled with viruses?
>>6841737Sai is a shit program for permabegs, the only thing it improved on was the paint bucket tool which got btfo by clip studio
>>6842050Enjoy your crutch, csbaby
>>6837600was literally about to bite the bullet before i saw this. $130 so i cant use it offline???does anyone have a crack that isnt gonna shit up my computer? i want to animate
>>6842066>C-csbabyEven Krita dunks on saibabies, they actually coded improvements regularly while you suck the cock of some lazy faggot
>>6837626I have money. But I don’t enjoy being taken advantage of so they can eat a dick for all I care. I can draw on any free platform, I’d take drawpile and mspaint before I take an always online or subscription art software
>>6837698I tried krita, immediately had issues with the erase tool, checked online and read a 300 post forum post where people were coping about how it’s better that there’s no dedicated eraser tool because… it just is okay?! Uninstalled and never going back. Open source faggotry is always the cringiest shit. Just add a fucking erase tool. If I ever go free I’m going Sai.
>>6839297Nigga what? Jack of all trades? What the fuck is photoshop doing that isn’t art related?
>>6842344Well, Photography for a start, there's small scale video editing, and It's not like illustrators need content aware fills either. Hand drawn art isn't actually what Photoshop was intended for, it just kinda became the standard.
>>6842336>Sai>Free
>just pirate bro>gives no links or resources/thread
>>6842336no erase tool? are you fucking serious? permabeg here and even I know you can just press "E" for eraser in Krita
>>6837568i use a legit copy of pro 1.0, and a pirated copy of 2.0, since you can just use the asset store with the 1.0 copy and use the brushes in the 2.0 version
>>6842650HAHAHA HEHEHE HOHOHOHOO STAAAATEEE OFFF IIIIIISSSSSEEEEEEEE HEHHEHEHEHEHE
>>6846522Krita doesn't have a dedicated eraser tool, instead what "E" does is turn your current brush into an eraser, textures and all, kinda like the "C" shortcut in CSP.I genuinely think it's the superior way to erase but I can see how it can inconvenience some people.
>>6838442Iunno about you but I love Krita for being able to paint in a scene-linear HDR space.
>>6838948It's hard not to like the guy as you read through his blog as you hear him waxing philosophical on each piece.
