How much time do you guys reckon musicians, writers, filmmakers and other creative pros spend on studying their craft daily? I feel like artists just aren't spending as much time practicing with the most productive dads spending only around 4-5 hours a day. That or other creative fields just happen to be way less demanding and art just happens to be the most competitive and saturated out of all creative fields out there thus the amount of effort we put into just gives relatively miniscule returns.

I'm not sure if you're aware how much other fields actually practice. 4 hours of deliberate practice is about the limit of how much pro musicians put in, if I recall Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell correctly.
And to avoid problems with carpal tunnel and other RSI you should take regular breaks, for example with pomodoro: with that 5 hours of work actually will take 6 hours out of your life.

The most useful books and tutorials take a long time a to go through and I'm not a very hard worker, sadly.
Big part of my hoard got old and obsolete now that I look through it: tutorials for old versions of drawing and 3d programs, courses made by people who are now below my tier (mostly from Digital-Tutors), videos in awful quality by modern standards and so on.

Frankly, whenever I need something specific, it's easier to just find a youtube video on that topic than to go through my archive.
