>Open up a 4k document and it lags and crashes
>Try to use a high resolution brush and it lags and crashes

Why do people shill this program so much? Its so outdated its a joke.
>>
>>6844830
Because it's japanese.
>>
>4k document
As in 4000x4000? That's half the size of the canvas size I use continuously every day for years. Only time it's ever crashed was when I had autosaves on, and there's no noticeable lag except for save times when the canvas starts hitting the 100mb+ filesizes.
I'm starting to think you guys just come on to the internet and lie for (you)s.

Maybe you've got something going in behind your backs

Have you ever use a large textured brush (with or without a custom brush tip) and/or color mixing enabled? Any of these cause lag on higher resolution files in my experience. Also using Windows, and a legit CSP copy. I hear Mac doesn't have this lag problem. Not OP btw
>>
>>6844830
>immediately assumes the program is the issue
Self awareness level zero. Buy a CPU that isn't from the 90s you fucking mong.
>>
The only time I've had completely unusable lag in Clip Studio was when working on an animation that was a 1 GB project file and took nearly 20 GB of ram when loaded.

fwiw I use a 600dpi canvas and max airbrush size quite often and it never lags when drawing. only slow thing is exporting png. using macos
>>

>>6845733
not op, but this is not a cpu issue, it is well known that this software doesn't support multithreading or GPU acceleration.
>>

600 dpi? at what paper size?

go ahead and paint and mix with gouche or watercolor brush, you'll have a good time

allegedly they don't give a shit, works on iOS so not like all their customers are affected thus they don't see it an important enough issue
>>
>>6844830
This exact same thread was made like a month ago, word for word. I remember it because anons started talking about standard canvas size and resolution.
>>
>>6844830
>Why do people shill this program so much?
Because of the superior lineart and sketching brushes.
No other drawin software has a pen pressure velocity modifier for the brush size.
It just produces the most natural looking strokes. The competition is a complete joke in that regard.
>>
>>6851312
>I use a 600dpi canvas
Tell me you have no idea what you are talking about without telling me you have no idea what you are talking about.
Dpi doesn't tell us anything if you don't provide the actual canvas size in inches/cm, you absolute dunning kruger moron.
>>
>>6851732
>As in 4000x4000? That's half the size of the canvas size I use continuously every day for years
Did you try reading?
>>
>>6851812
NTA, but anon, that's not the canvas size in inches/cm... I mean what is the paper size, in cm or inches? is it B4, is it A4, A5?, if you set the pixels, your DPI doesn't matter at all.
>>
I thought Procreate never crashes but there are times when I'm using the shape tool and the program closes even on a 2020+ model.

I don't think I've ever had CSP crash on me.
>>
>>6851813
It's astonishing to me how tech illiterate people are. If he uses a 4000x8000 pixel canvas at 600 dpi, it's roughly 6 1/2" x 13"
>>
>>6851812
Where exactly did you write the size previously? Or are you referring to OP?
How the hell would I know you were referring to 4k x 4k?

Do you even know how to properly use DPI? I'm still thinking you have no idea what DPI actually means, dear dunning kruger.
>>
>>6851815
The problem is he never once stated the pixel size of the canvas. He only mentioned DPI, which is completely useless information if you don't provide an inch/cm scale.
No I didn't read all the messages in the thread in order to figure out his canvas size.
DPI alone has nothing to do with how much a certain canvas will make your system lag.

I swear, whenvere I visit this place I feel like I'm sorrounded by complete retards.
>>
>>6851823
>>6851821
He said 4000x4000 is half the size of the canvas he normally uses, and assuming it's the same guy, later said 600 dpi.
>I feel like I'm sorrounded by complete retards.
Ironing
>>
>>6851815
>4000x8000 pixel canvas at 600 dpi
4000x8000 is 4000x8000 regardless of DPI, if you set the DPI to 3000, the pixels will still be 4000x8000.
>>
So I ask the question, at what resolution and dpi should I work? I work in A4 dpi 350.
>>
>>6851855
It doesn't matter.
>>
>>6851838
I didn't read his message history. Now I did and you guys are still fucking retards.

What the fuck does DPI have to do with him using a 4kx4k canvas size and lag?
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
DPI is used to describe the resolution for printing. It's used to describe the pixel density on a canvas size in INCHES or CENTIMETERS, you fucking moron.
If you know the pixel size of a canvas, that's all you need. You don't need to even mention DPI in that case.
DPI is used to convert inches to pixels, dumbass.

The fucking irony, right.

I'm not sure why this post is relevant, but okay.

Retard-kun, I've literally just been answering whatever retarded question you and the other anon had. I didn't say any of this shit mattered. You and the other guy asked what size in inches. I pointed out he said he uses double le a 4000x4000 canvas at 600 dpi, which gives you the canvas size in inches.
>>
>>6851859
Of course you don't. You are a complete idiot.

>>6851855
A4 @ 350DPI = 2480x3508pixels
If you don't have a potato PC, that's very small.
Personally I draw my stuff at 4k x 6k and I have no lag (unless I use huge texture brushes of course).

>which gives you the canvas size in inches.
Which matters absolutely zero when you talk about lag.
I would understand this being a pertinent answer if OP was asking for a print size, but the debate is about LAG.

The bigger your pixel count is, the more resources intensive it is for your computer.
If you make a 4k x 4k canvas @ 300 DPI or @ 600 DPI, the lag will be exactly the same.
Are you dense or something?
>>
>>6844830
Decades of being console plebs made Japs tech illiterate. They can't optimise for shit.
>>
>>6851869
>Which matters absolutely zero when you talk about lag.
I didn't say anything about lag. I didn't say dpi was relevant to OP. I answered >>6851732
>>6851813
Who asked what the canvas size was, and what the size was in inches.
I'm not the retard for answering questions asked by retards.
>>
>>6851880
I apologize then, but it actually seemed like you think dpi plays a role when you set your canvas size in pixels.
