So if I understand it correctly you spend years and ton of effort honing your skills just to end up drawing porn for degenerates for pennies?
I enjoy drawing porn for degenerates and sometimes even do it for free. Y’aint shaming me with this dumb bullshit.
>>7289621Ha! No!I spend years and effort on finding, collecting and organizing hundreds upon hundreds of Artbooks, Sketchbooks, Tutorials and References, to just ignore any tutorials, not draw and get into debates with internet strangers in a Curaçaoan corrosion casting comment section.
>>7289624I'm not trying to insult, just confused by your life choices. You people here seem self-aware, conscious of future job prospects being terrible even in the best case scenario and yet you keep doing it.Seems counterproductive or self-sabotaging even.
>human-like one has 2 sets of earsWhy do they do this?
>>7289627My solution to this was to to start my own studio with a bunch of likeminded friends pissed off at the games industry, specifically, and the grotesque mockery of an ideology that is capitalism (broadly). Turns out life kind of owns when everyone you work with already knows your kinks and doesn’t care.
>>7289628We can’t ALL be ffxiv and actually accommodate alternative ear morphology.
>>7289624I'd have to see your work to know how shameful it is
>>7289627Aiming to be an artist was never the best future job prospect, ever, so idk why you think you are being some sort of eye-opener here.
>>7289641My favorite commission I’ve ever done was of Benedict cumberbatch’s sherlock as a dullohan sucking his own dick with his own detached head, while Watson walks into him, looking scandalized, while a Union Jack burns and Queen Elizabeth ugly cries at the state of her empire.
>>7289627people dont choose art to become rich, they do it because they like it
>>7289621if you live in the third world somewhere you can make respectable wages, just don't bring it up at family gatherings
>>7289621You understand correctly
>>7289627if i wanted to make money i'd take my engineering diploma out of whatever box i shoved it into, i draw cuz i like it
>>7289786Nah you're just a freak
>>7289787Not them but yeah, it fucking owns.
>>7289621No, I do it for free.
>>7289621Yes, money is just a plus, I don't mind if I make no cash from drawing, I do it because I WANT TO. Nothing else can compare to being able to create anything from basically nothing
>>7289621my drawings brighten people's day, that's enough.
>>7289621>Furries in Manga StyleShould not be.
>>7289627If you're not a gooner you ain't winning.I spent years drawing porn and only porn because I like it. I have normie taste so amassed a following easily. Opened my paywalls 3 years ago, went from 200 a month to 5000 a month now so I live comfortably in the US. No gross fetishes, no third world country, no commissions. Just gooning.Nobody has to draw gross fetishes unless they're bad at art. That's the last resort for people who shouldn't be doing art in the first place.
>>7289621Yes.If it's any consolation, it's a step to other things. Just gotta make the money to survive in the meanwhile.
porn is a basic human need and people that provide basic needs get rich
>>7290506People have gotten by fine without it for millenia
>penniesI do this shit for free. My stuff is worth $5 at best and given how famous I am I'd get two commissions a year if I opened them.
>>7290525porn is p much as old as civilization
>>7289621I mean, I honed my skills drawing rule34 as a very young 10 yeear to teenager, doing a wide variety of shows and then also taking some art courses in college gave me a decent understanding to pull from in the future. Now I swapped back to safe for work again but it doesn't mean I don't sometimes go back and draw lewd. My favorite stuff I draw for myself or with a commission where I can guide the product but they give me a lot of art direction. Some people like being given "artistic license" but I don't like taking the gamble of getting it wrong an d having to do a bunch of revisions.
>>7289637You hiring?
>>7289621no, fuck you drawing animals is harder than anime girls.
>>7289628Probably a leftover from traveling theater troupes. Why do they have wings on their heads? Hats are easy to swap when changing roles. It's the same as the minimal masks covering just the eyes on american superheroes, a theater leftover.
>>7289621Well yeah, if that's what you want...I found out while doing some random sketches that it was quite easy for me to draw furries, then I never drew them again because I don't like furries.
>>7290116Any advice on separating yourself from an audience? I wanted to make friends at first but I lost interest after enough bad experiences. I feel too exposed whenever I show my art tho, even if it doesn't have my name attached.
>>7289627That's the archetype of the artist. >muh art>but practical concerns>BUT ART
>>7292670Practical concerns often crush the soul, though. To bury yourself in the mundane and practical and reject/admonish the value of the frivolous is to be reduced to an unfeeling machine of flesh.
>>7292676Yes, then the artist digivolves into the other archetype, the failed artist.
>>7289627>If you draw this you'll get blacklisted by the pozzed, crumbling industryOh no what will I ever do.
