I've noticed many artists do master studies of their favorite artists. Should I focus on learning the general foundations of art first, or start with master studies and learn the foundations later?
>>7373060I think you mean fundamentals
>>7373066Nigga i will rape you
>>7373073Um actually I am not of African descent
>>7373060Learn the foundations. My dream is to draw like taiyo matsumoto his art is peak.
>>7373060>Should I focus on learning the general foundations of art first, or start with master studies and learn the foundations later?Foundations/Fundamentals first. Without those, your master studies wont really yield any results because you can't tell what they're doing and why.
>>7373060i know you are a kid to ask this stupid questions but yeah, you learn how to move first to later copy the rest. is like those permabegs to live in denial about they confidence in volume or good lines but you see their shit and is all fucked up, of course you learn the basic first, how basic? all the way to zero if necessary that's why you have books like the betty edwards shit that literally literally is about hold the fucking pencil, literally use your fucking eyes. So if you need to do that, do it. Your only enemy is your ego so be humble and honest about your current state, always, and you will be fine
Master studies first to prevent burnout/ending up like most of /ic/If you consistently struggle with something, perspective or drawing a particular bodypart for example, look up some random shitty youtube guide but then go back to drawing actual things
>>7373060Have you finished all of drawabox yet? No?Don‘t you fucking dare start master studies then until you have.
>>7373975lmao
>>7373060It doesn't matter. Just keep drawing and keep changing what you do. It's about volume and variety. Doing either exclusively will fuck you up.
>>7373975drawacope
>>7373060Both, focus on fundamentals but mix in master studies to see how the people you admire use those fundamentals
