I have less respect for popular artists because I feel like they just got lucky with other artists. I think a real artist continues without validation to create something unique.
>>7947181then you wouldn't have made this thread, but you being a hypocritical piece of shit wanted to be validated for saying this. fuck off shitter
>>7947181This is so bad
Didn't that fag used to post here?
>>7947188Wrong, I made this thread partly out of my own boredom to see your angry response.Validation from 4chan is like whatever since you can't redeem 4chan validations for prize tokens.
I don't think about whether an artist is popular, I don't have twitter or Instagram. If I like their art i use a xitter instance and browse through their work.
No, I don't respect social media people.
>no akshually i just wanted to epic bait you your le seething!!!damn, that anon really came straight in your ass, OPthe butthurt
Post something "a real artist" would draw.

>>7947220Nice.
>>7947181 A lot of popular artists worked hard to obtain the support they have. They had to get better social skills, better networking skills, and are better at appeasing the algorithm gods in general. Skills other than being really good at drawing are needed in order to succeed as an artist. Unless they were born rich or famous, they had to build an audience from scratch. People who are just really good at marketing dumb idiotic things like blob doodles can make it a lot farther than people who put real time and practice into it. It is just the sad truth. People do respect high technical skill, but without consistent application, artists tend to get buried and ignored.
>>7947181i don't really care about an artist's popularity outside of how it will affect their prices and availability for commissions. overall, what would really make me hate an artist is the use of obnoxious watermarks, website urls, adversarial noise, and obtrusive signatures. artists that are super paranoid about theft to the point where they willingly make their art bad to look at are the worst kinds of artists. and i've generally noticed this behavior amongst the /adv/ artists pulling in thousands through patreon. small indie creators from latin america drawing /int/ furry smut for $60 are a lot more humble and friendly.
>>7947181Highly opinionated artists that are more noisy than actually posting art, yeah it's an easy mute
I have zero repsect for any social media artists, negative respect for ones doing lewds for likes
>>7947199Do you actually think that YOUR opinion even matterlike who gives a shit if some worms are jealous that we're successful
Most people who draw are not artists, and that includes 99.9999999% of /ic/. I am not an artist.Stop devaluing the term by referring to subhuman drawfags and smut peddlers as Artists.
>>7947181I do respect some of them, but in some cases the success really feels absolutely undeserved. Like when a guy draws boring anime doodles in fucking void and it gets thousands of likes all the time?? And it's like the average /asg/ level shit??? What the hell dude.
