Is it true there are no Imax theaters in yurop?
>>
>>216332364
the license is too expensive
>>
I imagine it's not financially viable to set up since no one bothers going to the movies anymore
>>
>>216332364
what's the difference?
>>
>>216332364
Apparently you get deafened when seeing IMAX
>>
>>216332717
Bigger screen without resolution loss. Played from film and not digital
>>

The IK does not represent the whole continent (thank God). According to wik*pedia, there are theaters in European countries and even in third world countries like Tunisia or even fucking Japan: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/IMAX#France

Normal movie theater already hurts my ears and I can't go there because I start vomiting after.
>>
I haven't gone to a cinema since like 2013 I hate sharing my viewing space with other people
>>
>>216332364
The only difference I've ever noticed is that 3d looks blurrier and IMAX is deafeningly loud

There's a German thing called "Oropax" - it's cotton with wax and you stick it in your ears to get some quiet. I used to cut one in half and stick the halves into my ears in the cinema. It worked quite well.

You only have to do that in large mainstream cinemas, though. The smaller programme cinemas aren't so loud.

we have it and im really looking forward to see dune part three you just know its gonna be so sick
>>
>>216332364
there is even IMAX in my shithole, I watched 2 movies (Dune 2, Oppenheimer)
>>
it's 2025, everyone has a 55" screen and 4k torrents, there is no need for gay browned kinotheques where you pay 20€ for zogslop and 10€ for a tiny bucket of popcorn and soda
>>
>>216333768
why is he snacking on a piece of shit? is he German?
>>
>>216335997
Lots of people don't have space or money for that. I think the real reasons why cinemas are dying are:
(1) Hollywood is woke shit these days, good movies that the people want to see are hard to find and
(2) even if there's a good movie in the cinemas people don't have to go because they know it's going to be available on streaming just a week later.

It's the studios putting everything almost instantly on streaming that killed the cinemas.
>>
>>216333835
It's ohropax
>>
>>216332364
There are only 20 70mm screens in the entire world (most of which in the US), which is what true IMAX is.
Regular IMAX exists in many countries.
>>
>>216336165
Nah, pretty sure your (1) point killed the cinemas. I will not pay to see shit that insults me. I won't even watch it for free.
>>
>>216332902
The enhancements are obviously done digitally, meaning they just scanned the original at something like 16K resolution, then put it back on film for the hipsters.
IMAX is a big meme for anything not shot specifically for the film format. The hyper standardized sound is the non meme part
>>
>>216336451
IMAX is an own film and camera format.
>>
>>216332364
what's a theater?
>>
