I never left my city
>>221704973I was conceived, born in, and have literally lived over 99% of my entire life in the upper midwest United States. Specifically, I have literally spent 99% of my entire life inside a circle with a radius of about 200 miles, including land in three of those states. I have never been outside the Lower 48, nor have I ever had any strong inclination to travel elsewhere. Every permanent residence or legal address that I have ever lived at or maintained has been in one part of one state. I have set foot in seven states, with brief visits to another three neighboring upper midwestern states, and one other trip. My one and only trip to another region of the world (physically speaking) was a flight out to Seattle for a cousin's wedding. The last time I was in Chicago over ten years ago (second lifetime visit, quite possibly last), I got very close to the border with Indiana, and I thought about crossing it just to say I'd been to another state. Ultimately, I decided against it, not so much because I understood NW Indiana to be a shithole (which it is), but more because I wanted to keep my lifetime states visited at a minimum.
>>221704973I never left my own state.
>>221704973I've been to every province except PEI. In the US, I've been to New York state and Nevada(Vegas). Abroad I've been to the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and the Azores.I enjoyed Newfoundland and the Rockies out west the most. Other than that I usually stay in the Ottawa Valley area. A lot of outdoorsy shit.
>>221706792>Canadian >Not living in best province British Columbia
>>221707294Those are some impressive stats, anon. Curious how you came to visit only Hokkaido in Japan.
This one is for the geography heads. Guess the island that I'm going to soon
>>221707445blame the autism. most of my trips just involve scratching itches or chasing vibes. for that one specifically it involved seeing wild bears, going to a hot spring, pokemon platinum is one of my favorite games, I like going to geographically extreme points of places, in this case the far north. And whatever Japanese city thing I wanted to see could be found in Sapporo, I didn't have to go to Tokyo to walk among brightly-lit streets full of adsduring or after my trips, people from these countries always act really interrogational as to why I go to certain places. even if I was doing normal tourist stuff in a place like Montreal for example, suddenly its an issue when I want to just go up north and see something I want to see
>>221707710Nah man I have the same autism. The only reason I asked is because there are probably no direct flights from the US to Sapporo, but then it occurred to me that you probably just flew in from somewhere else. Yeah, I also want to visit Hokkaido. Hakodate in particular so I can see that cool park with a moat built around it.
Going to the Balkans next month!!>>221705084>>221706446you should go to more places>>221707294you must be wealthy. i am jealous>>221707644neat, I want to make it to the STans eventually
>>221708237I'm not wealthy, and while I wouldn't call myself frugal since I buy all kinds of dumb shit, I never even had credit until I was 24, I have a cheap used car that never gave me problems, and whatever I have doesn't interest thieves despite living in a city full of property crime. So I make around high $60k's(?) a year and mostly just spend it all on flights and hotels. despite all this I got like 80k in savings while in my late 20's.sorry for this in depth clarification but I'd rather be called a liar than wealthy
>>221707544Nobody has guessed it yet. That tiny little island highlighted in yellow.
>>221708237If you ever do get the chance to go stan-hopping it's really cool. Hoping one day to go back and visit the rest of them
>>221707544i know what that is because thats either Saipan or farallon, we've all been to guam lil bro
>>221708237are you going to balkans for anything besides memes
>>221708318Do you own a house?>>221708556I hope to!>>221709716Sarajevo is pretty and has very interesting recent history, there is the village of Lukomir in Bosnia which is a quaint village on top a mountain which I will hike to, Mostar in Herzegovina is pretty, Dubrovnik is obviously beautiful, Kotor and Kotor Bay are incredible (and there is a huge party hostel in Kotor that I'm looking forward to), Durmitor National Park looks beautiful, Belgrade is known for it's vibrant nightlife, Novi Sad looks pretty, Matka Canyon and Ohrid and Macedonia look pretty.Kosovo, I will admit I am only visiting for memes. but the rest are legit
>>221709816I've been only to Belgrade and Zagreb in the former YU. Belgrade is definitely a nightlife city, though it's huge and there's plenty to see in the day as well. It's a fun interesting city, they have lots of good coffee too if that's something you're interested in
Bye.
>>221709877*I've also been to Slovenia, I forgot about that place. It's very pretty but much quieter
>>221709816>Do you own a house? No, though I wish I could buy one in a walkable town/city>>221709816Same guy but while I didn't see many Americans in my highly specific travels, in the Balkans I saw too many Americans who either went there for meme reasons or were *literal* tourists who just wanted to sit and talk loudly at outdoor tables in every European capital or major city
>>221709892Don't worry I'm way too timid to talk loudly. And I'm well aware of our reputation. I'll behave. I just want to walk around the cities, go to museums, eat good food, and make friends with hostel people at night.
