So how many of you have read Ero Mahou? Is it worth attempting to translate it into english? Or is it just one giant fuck fest with a laughably bad plot?

I'm still in the middle of it. The plot is the same as the majority of the older games, Fuck and impregnate girls. This one comes with a Oyakodon scene with each of the main girl's mothers + a couple of harem scenes including said mothers.

In the process of reading, mostly in an LP format for extra kicks.

Definitely. It's Sukebe Elf Forest tier fun. Which comes to no surprise since the writer who worked on Ero Mahou also worked on Elf Forest.

>Or is it just one giant fuck fest with a laughably bad plot?
I giant fuck fest. The plot is very light-hearted and non-nonsensical, but that's to be expected by a game that is supposed to be a sex romp about a guy fucking as many girls as possible and knocking them up on the side too. It's also got its share of RPG and isekai jokes, satire, and puns.

The H-scenes are pretty damn good, but my complaint so far would be the excessive voice acting during the H-scenes. There's no need to slur your voice as soon as the dude sticks his dick inside you. It makes me laugh and causes me to lose my boner.

That's a tough one. But it would probably have to be the Lalatina expy senpai scene where she rides Takumi's cock. As for describing it, there really isn't much to say about it. She, a crusader who has to keep her virginity to be able to ride Pegasi, wants to have vaginal sex with the protagonist after having a lot of anal sex with him offscreen. The protagonist, nice guy he is, is considerate of her virginity, so he ero magics some magical scanties she can wear that keeps her virginity intact, and then she rides his cock -- her huge and glorious titties bouncing about as he plays with them, sucks on their nipples, and he smacks her ass with a whip. There is also some kissing too. A very hot scene overall.

I don't think I hate any of the scenes I've played so far, though, really. Every one of them have been fap worthy. The voice acting definitely adds to that eroticism factor as well; I originally thought the Kaguyahime knock-off was gonna be an uninteresting character, but she is quite hot.

Jesus, coda in white album 2 is going on for a lot longer than I was expecting
i was doing setsuna's true route but after finding out kazusa's mother had cancer, i just had to switch. the idea of leaving kazusa alone kills me, plus i dont really care too much for setsuna. though i find it really odd that for kazusa's true route you have to have sex with setsuna in the hotel and get her family thinking you're going to propose. it feels a bit off. anyways i'm at like 2/6 in the story, and im surprised it isn't wrapping up, but still building plot points.
>>
>>19027042
Not like the route actually cares about the cancer thing much, Setsuna's gives a better resolution to that plotline.
>>
>>19027050
maybe ill go back and play through her route later, not sure since i've been racking up a backlog lately
>>
>>19027050
But the Extra Episode after the Kazusa normal route is the only part that even touches that plotline.
>>
>>19027091
All routes did touch that plotline.

>>19027042
You'll always have sex with Setsuna on that hotel, no matter what route you'll take. By Coda, you are already engaged to Setsuna, only in Kazusa True that you call it wuits with Setsuna.
>>
>>19027213
*quits
>>
>>19027213
but in Setsuna's true, at least according to the guide i'm using, you tell setsuna the truth about kazusa and you, and then she encourages you to go see her performance, and won't take no for an answer, and then forces you to go take the train as she sees you off

>>
>>19027243
Setsuna only tells Haruki to go the concert. But by the time he gets there, the concert is already over. And Kazusa is on her old home, weeping on the floor. In Setsuna True, you marry Setsuna by the end of the route. Haruki doesn't tell any truth about himself and Kazusa because in this route he rejects Kazusa's feelings for him.

I just finished Extravaganza and it was a very cool game. Game's probably very love-it or hate-it but it was a huge hit for me. Absolutely loved the system and the way the story progressed, and how you watched Yumemi grow up all the way to seeing her as an adult. The game was also extremely cool in how much the story branched and diverged based off of what you did, really nice to see. Also, the abundance of bad ends added a lot of stakes to the story. It's really tense when you don't know if what you are reading is heading down a fucked-up bad end or not.

If I were to offer complaints it'd be that I was kind of disappointed with the final chapter of the game. I thought that it had some really cool shit, but I would have liked to see more done with Yumemi.

I feel like this VN is pretty unique though. Not sure if there's really anything else like it.
>>
>>19029812

>>
>>19030102
Evenicle is quite a lot better than some of the other titles there.
>>
>>19030321
Depends on what you want. Evenicle has a lot of "chase the plot", and sometimes the encounter rate of cutscenes is higher than the one of enemies in dungeons. If you actually want to play the game, it's annoying. And just the story? Ehh. Honestly, the gameplay was what made it interesting if you ask me.

But yeah, depends on what you want. If we are talking strictly story, I can't say it's worth it for that, but maybe that's just me. Very very bloated in that regard as well.

>>19030472
No. Go to village a, get plot and get told to go to village b. Get plot and told to go back to village a. Basically cutscene chasing. It's basically one the worst RPG designs if you just need to go back and forth between a few towns to trigger cutscenes.

>>

Oh, and start over from the beginning of coda on the start screen instead of loading from the first save. There's some bonus stuff near the start of the route that gets unlocked. Honestly you should have saved Kazusa true for last but it's too late for that.
>>
>>19030634
I don't think I would call the game a nukige. The game takes place in a fantasy setting with a group of people called mushitsukai. These people have certain rules and customs that they live by, but primarily their life revolves around living with and using creatures called mushi.

After a mushitsukai named Rengo gets into a fight with another mushitsukai, he falls ontop of a car and kills the protagonist's parents. Rengo then kidnaps the protag and uses her to birth mushi that he can use for fighting, The game is pretty much about the protagonist's life, and the various absurd situations that she finds herself swept into after being dragged into the world of mushitsukai. It follows her life from being a kid to a teenager to an adult. Like a tone works game, but better.

Absolutely great, it's been a very long time since I've had a VN get me so emotionally distraught, especially when there's nothing life-threatening going on. The writer did a very good job at creating tension, depression, distress, etc, without introducing any needless elements that would have brought down the story. I'm very happy I got the chance to read it, and I feel like it's set a new standard for romantic VN's that I doubt many, if any, will be able to live up to, for a long time.

>>
>>19039764

>>
>>19039836
you're talking about in dive1 i assume, right?
>>
>>19039867
No, Sora is the last route in Dive2.
>>
>>19039910
i feel like i might be confusing myself
why is 2 considered so good if the entire game is a repeat of itself except for near the end, outside of Sora's route?
>>
>>19039921
Because Soras route is pretty damn good and people reading eroge are used to the multi heroine route format. Keep in mind the gameplay plays a big part in why people like the game and the weapons etc. carry over onto the next routes.
>>
>>19039748
>without spoiling anything, is dive2 compared to dive1 the Alternative to Unlimited?
Not really. Basically Dive 1 and 2 are two halves of the same game, three routes each with roughly similar structure aside from last one, they're not that different like MLA's Extra+Unlimited and Alternative are. You can even install both games and play them both through Dive 2's exe without having to save file transfer as if they were one game.

Some people like Dive 2 more, but I vastly preferred Dive 1. Dive 2 has a big issue with repetition (the two games as a whole kind of do): the first route of Dive 2 is mostly retread of Dive 1's third route but with a different heroine, the second route of Dive 2 is pretty great but right after it the game throws you a whole heap of compulsory flashbacks including ones you've already seen and the game doesn't recognize them as already read (meaning you have to manually skip between the portions that are actually new) and the last route is kind of divisive. I didn't like it that much because it throws away some of the stuff I found interesting about the game in favor of some pretty generic stuff.

Dive 1 also has problems with repetition to lesser extent, but when playing both games in one go the repetition in Dive 2 really gets on one's nerves.

I seriously hope Force isn't better than Sky, because I read Force and it was trash.
>>
>>19040542
Probably shouldn't bother with Hiei's games then if you disliked it that much.
>>
>>19040542
Depending on what exactly you didn't like in Force.
>>
>>19040542
I mean, you're trading out Force's shitty too-fast pacing for Sky's shitty too-slow pacing, and then tacking on every single light novel trope you can think of from the protagonist being Harry Potter to magical high school to lol harem hijinks around every corner, before it throws out everything from the first five routes and goes 150% chuuni for the last one, complete with a fucking spirit bomb and psuedo-philosophical questions that it answers and only afterward, asks what the answer could possibly be. And that's without getting into almost half of its major plot points coming recycled straight from Force. Rarely, they switch a trait or two from one heroine/route to another, but even that's rare.

Refining the gameplay, yeah, sure, that's an easy one. There's almost a full decade between the two games. As for the rest, it's a big improvement only if you think that stuff would improve a game.

Hiei is kind of a shit writer DESU, but that should be obvious to anybody who's read his stuff and sees his egregious misunderstanding of all the things he tries to reference. I can't remember if it was Force or Sky, but in one of them, he starts going over Asimov's Three Laws, and directly namedropping him even, and they were just bonkers wrong. IIRC, he said they were 1.) An AI cannot kill a human, 2.) An AI cannot be ordered to harm a person, 3.) An AI cannot violate logic (eg of cyberspace).
>>
>>19040586
That's unfortunate.

>>19040602
The characters were awful, and the plot tried to be serious but ended up just being cheesy and cliche and full of pseudo-scientific nonsense. Despite that it did have a few neat moments, and I could have probably forgiven some of its faults if the "gameplay" hadn't been so astoundingly awful.

>>19040741
>his egregious misunderstanding of all the things he tries to reference.
Oh my god this shit drove me up the wall in Force.

I'd actually be more way willing to give Hiei another shot if he gave up trying to write hard sci-fi and just did some ridiculous but fun chuuni shit. Force was just so dry that it made the cracks in his storytelling all the more apparent.

>Oh my god this shit drove me up the wall in Force.
Be glad you didn't play Sky then because it's ten times worse, but that said, the thing that grates the most are the casual "I'm so clever" unimportant references he tries to make, like refering to all synthetic food as Onions Green. As in he keeps talking about how the downtrodden people have to live off Onions Green, with the furigana saying that means "artificial food." That's not what Onions Green fucking is.

There's some other choice bits in this big infodump about how much of a dystopia most of the city is compared to the rich arcology in the middle that's closed itself off from everything else. It stuck with me because he cites a bunch of economic facts that made me go "wait a fucking second here." Every metric he uses is significantly better than Japan or the US.

And then there's all the parts that were clearly machine translated. The filler English text on images is patently obvious, but most of the software terms were as well, like going Orchestrator -> 指揮者 -> Conductor.

Well, there are few interesting characters in Force, true. Maybe Bachelor, Liang, Qu Wong.
I got especially sick of Rape-Ex-Machina every route. Plus, Force is short so you don't relly get time to tell something interesting about characters.
In Sky, there is more time spent on character interactions and development.
Some say it's "shitty slow pacing", but I liked it. I liked the characters and it didn't bother me if I get to see more of them. The gameplay is better compared to Force. Here, you are incentivized to actually make combos instead of spamming 2-3 OP ranged weapons.
Sky is so much fun actually if it's your cup of tea.
Now, Sky has its flaws, like basically high school MC for first 2 routes who is kinda lost in what's happening around him but as you know more and more and Kou gets more and more competent, the story gets more and more interesting.
I'd recommend you to read Baldr Sky Zero cause it has a cast full of cool characters and interactions(superior to Sky imho), but it doesn't make much sense without Sky.
>>
>>19040950
I was about to write a thing about how Nanoha's route was the low point of the whole game, but then I started writing about how shitty Chinatsu's route is too, and then you just get Aki as Chinatsu mk2 but with all the characters NOT being assholes for no reason before being dumped into a forced replay of all the flashbacks, which is bad enough without introducing the deus ex romance and... I just can't do it.

Makoto's route is pretty solid though, and if you like chuuni stuff, Sora/Kuu's is good too, I imagine. I can't stand it though, so Makoto's route is honestly the only one I think I'd be willing to defend.
>>

>>19040989
when it comes to one of the acclaimed kamige, you want to give the game the benefit of the doubt
>>
>>19041022
The thing that always gets me about Baldr Sky's reputation is that the people who proclaim it seem to be entirely focused on the final route to the exclusion of all else. It's rare to see anybody praising any of Dive 1's routes, and half of Dive 2 is Reminiscene and a rehash of one of Dive 1's routes. It's not like there's some big reveal ala Nega0 that forces a reevaluation of the prior events either. It makes me wnder if it's lowkey sunk cost shit.
>>
>>19040987
It seems to me that you were just trying to find flaws because you wasn't enjoying it for a different reason.
It wasn't supposed to be read by english natives. English is here to accentuate that cultures merged after globalisation and english is probably the world's language.
If you want decent english, go for Zero because Shiina actually researches and puts decent english terms.

>>19041059
>entirely focused on the final route to the exclusion of all else
Not really. Nobody would read it to the last route if the others were shitty.
It's just that the last route is mindblowing and it overshadows the previous ones. I had a lot of fun trying to piece what's going on, getting new info every route.

>And it's a great reference because of what's it's really made of.
It was used to mean 'artificial food,' not 'made of people.'

I didn't enjoy it because the writing was crap. The main characters, Kou especially, lacked agency, and spent most of it twiddling their thumbs and bemoaning their fates. Routes kept getting stretched out by characters refusing to explain themselves, forcing a meaningless conflict, then in the next route, giving a perfunctory explanation to instead advance things. Kou was not the agent of change in the story, but a helpless oaf being dragged along by events that unfolded differently based not on what he did or the actions that he took, but by the world somehow changing based on what he happened to be thinking about at a couple different times. On top of that,Hiei kept making up new rules, violating them, writing himself into corners, and having to deus ex machina himself out. Time and time again, Kuu/the AIs would swoop in and do supposedly impossible things while the characters would just marvel at their good fortune.

But all his fuckups of the most basic things are far more memorable and speak more to the lack of effort put in.
>>
>>19041135
>made of people
But it is made of people! At least in SAS in Sky Zero.
Because it's much cheaper I guess.
>lacked agency
To me, it felt like he had. To know what's going on(because he didn't know shit), to obstruct the catastrophe. Is it not enough?
>making up new rules, violating them
Examples, please.
>supposedly impossible things
Also, examples.

Hiei has a free pass card because it's cyberspace and a very technologically advanced stuff may be seen as magic by ordinary people.

>>
>>19041179
It's been years, but what I remember off the top of my head as the most egregious deus ex machina are the timestop crap and Nanoha's good end. Both of those things are pretty inexcusable asspulls out of nowhere, and the latter even has characters talking about how much of a magical miracle it is. Besides that, the rules about who can talk /listen over chants change constantly, mind hack stuff changes almost every time it comes up, Baldr/Tranquilizer domination is inconsistent as fuck, and Makoto's magic cyber powers are the epitome of a constant series of asspulls.
>>
>>19041179
>Is it not enough?
You know how people can't stand Morgana in Persona 5 constantly telling you that you won't be going out and need to go to straight to bed?

That's Dive 1 in a nutshell; being told by other characters that you need to go to your simulated old dormroom to take a nap, only let out at the last second when a crisis develops so you can show up 15 minutes too late to do anything, and then needing to have your ass pulled out of certain death by someone else.
>>
the presence of gameplay and game length is what's keeping Baldr Sky in my backlog. the posts here might just push me to remove it from my backlog altogether.
>>
>>19041335
If gameplay is a negative, you should definitely stay way the hell far away. That's the balm that smoothes over some of the rough edges.
>>
>>19041256
>timestop crap
Why? It's explained how and it's not abused. You get 2-3 singularitites only each route.
>Nanoha's good end
This one I agree.
>talk /listen over chants change constantly
Really? Isn't it like in modern messengers? Except for suppahackers like Miko who can intercept.
>mind hack stuff
I don't remember much but what exactly changed?
>Baldr/Tranquilizer domination
Again, where? Characters don't have to explain you how it works in details and I don't remember contradictions.
>magic cyber powers
If the cyberbrainillness is not explained thouroughly, it doesn't mean it's an asspull.

Come one, you're nitpicking without facts.
>>
>>19041404
First, that's not what nitpicking means. Second, you don't get 2-3 free deus ex machinas before they start counting. Third, saying that you disagree is not the ironclad refuatation that you seem to think it is.
>>
>>19040894
>The characters were awful, and the plot tried to be serious but ended up just being cheesy and cliche and full of pseudo-scientific nonsense.
That's Baldr Sky for you, alright.
>>
>>19041404
>Why? It's explained how and it's not abused
The explanation is that it's magic. AIs are overloading shit, but it only affects some things and not other things, and they can only do it at plot opportune times, all because magic.

And 2-3 intrusions by time wizards to resolve an unresolvable crisis per route is a fucking lot.

I'd also point out that Aki's good end has the exact same magic total reprogramming that Nanoha's good end did.
>>
>>19041335
letting a few obvious trolls put you off a game seems like a bad idea, every kamige has some people who like to shit on it to seem cool so you'll only end up reading games that aren't good enough to get that popular and trigger contrarians
in Baldr Sky's case, it definitely has some weak parts but there's a reason it's as renowned and loved as it is and if you never try it you'll miss out on that.
>>
>>19041660
Anon, do you ever stop and think to yourself "Is the argument I'm making something that is equally applicable to Big Bang Theory?"

You should.
>>
My main complaints about Baldr Sky is that at the end of the day, none of the characters were really that great or memorable, the main structure of the game is awful, and for how much it is praised the final true route is the worst part of the game and completely isolated me from the game. I hated how AIs were depicted in the game and the final villain was absolutely retarded. By the time I was on the final chapters of Baldr Sky I literally couldn't give a shit about the game anymore and just wanted to end it.

It's the only game that I have no idea why people hail it as a flawless kamige. Maybe the gameplay was so good people didn't really read it for the plot, I guess.

As a fellow confused person, White Album 2 is the game that truly mystifies me and made me think that the Japanese audience is just insane or easily swayed by marketing. I simply don't get it at all.

Come on, it was explained in the last route who regulates and connects singularities.
Again, AIs are sentient and friendly towards Kou and co.

>And 2-3 intrusions by time wizards to resolve an unresolvable crisis per route is a fucking lot.
So what do you suggest? Make no such situations where interference is needed? Then where's the fucking thrill? The whole point is that Kou is incompetent so he needs help just to survive. It wouldn't make sense to nerf all the villains in first 2 routes so here comes the balancing from the other side.

Ended Zombie no Afureta Sekai de Ore Dake ga Osowarenai vol.3, started playing the series thinking that it was a mildly interesting nukige with good drawing and ended finding a best girl and a quite good writing with nice H-scenes. Strangely enough I had the game stalled since I play a bit when the Vol. 1 was just released and started playing it again when the others vols got released, then I got hooked.

The writer uses some cliches ways to make tension but uses his resources well so I got quite thrilled in the climax points.

Now I'm waiting for the vol. 4(though first the author needs to update the WN) and for someone to upload the vol. 0 (being poor hurts).

Finished "Sinario 1" in CARNIVAL. Pretty nice story. The first time I suspected that this fight club kind of split personality might be going on is when one morning Manabu woke up, but I think he was narrating himself in the third person or something, so I thought the perspective actually changed to Takeshi.

Are the choices actually meaningful, or do they just contain H-scenes? I'm wondering whether I should read those first, or start the other "Sinario". I've only checked the very last choice, where one led to a bad ending, and the other led to this normal ending with credits.
>>
>>19049953
Mostly H-scenes but there are minor aspects of the situation you miss without them, and they're all very short. Definitely not required reading or anything though. But I'd recommend doing Izumi's at least. IIRC Risa's end the only thing required to progress but Izumi's is good stuff too.

it's just been kind of drilled to me that stuff like DI, KKK, Muramasa, Paradise Lost, etc. are all stupidly difficult to read and understand unless you're very used to the genre, and even then it's hard. Is this not the case?
>>
>>19052017
No, it's not the case. If you have trouble with Japanese in general then yeah, those and every other VN will be difficult, but if you are comfortable with it then getting accustomed to "chuuni" isn't really an issue. Keep in mind that chants and stuff like that make up like 0.01% of the entirety of Dies irae, the other 99.99% are just normal Japanese.
>>
>>19051941
>they're popular for a reason.
I personally really don't like this argument. Popularity doesn't mean anything, especially to someone who wants to get into a given genre. For someone like that, something light on the chuuni parts would be better.

I don't know enough of the chuuni genre to really help here, but just recommending the "most popular" chuuni is most likely not the way to go here.
>>
>>19052145
>I personally really don't like this argument.
Well do you have arguments against it or are you just here to post your unfounded feelings?
>Popularity doesn't mean anything
Blatantly wrong, empty statement. I think you might be just one of those people who are a contrarian for the sake of being a contrarian, and I shouldn't attempt an argument, but in case not:
Why do you think you need to start with "something light" (whatever that means, please define this precisely as well) when majority of people start with those and end up loving them? Where is the advantage in recommending someone a low quality / obscure game and potentially scaring them away from the genre altogether? Genuinely curious of your thought processes here.
>>
>>19052145
I don't know about others but chuuni isn't really a genre that needs some sort of a readiness in my opinion. Might as well start with the good games.
"Do you like blood-pumping battles and verbose powerlevel wank or alternatively explaining how the Immelmann turn is a fucking awesome aerial maneuver YES/NO" and that's about it.
>>
>>19052270
A lot who get immediately exposed to the depths of the genre will not get a lot out of it though. Dies Irae having been translated caused quite a few responses like that. As in, it taking itself too serious for how "stupid" some things are.
Personally I feel like easing yourself into the genre isn't anything bad either, given how special it can be,

>>19052251
>arguments
Not like you said anything but "it's popular".
As for the second thing, if someone is literally asking here to get something that is not the biggest heaviest chuuni out there (anyone can check EGS/vndb for ratings), you should probably not recommend those. That's the feeling I get. There are fairly down to earth works out there with some chuuni elements.
Scaring away from the chuuni genre works btw. in both ways. If the first game is just so "out there" with its chuuni that it's not enjoyable, then that's that as well. On the flipside something less chuuni could also cause that, but could also give an entry point which may make the popular stuff entertaining afterwards.

Chuuni is not for everyone and to me very much a genre where easing yourself into a little doesn't necessarily hurt. Not needed for everyone, but still.
>>
>>19051941
I'm not sure if I would recommend two really long titles to someone who is still asking about shit like how difficult the language is.
>>
>>19052465
> if someone is literally asking here to get something that is not the biggest heaviest chuuni out there
No one did this. He was asking whether a game was good or not.
>There are fairly down to earth works out there with some chuuni elements.
Like what specifically? Where do you draw the line? Chuuni by definition is over the top, that's the appeal.
>Scaring away from the chuuni genre works btw. in both ways. If the first game is just so "out there" with its chuuni that it's not enjoyable, then that's that as well.
By definition popular works scare less people away than unpopular works, so this argument doesn't stand either. If it was so out there that most people couldn't enjoy it... it wouldn't be popular. It's not like you're giving these games to your 75 year old grandfather whose sole knowledge of Japan is that they like sushi, you're giving them to someone at least somewhat familiar with eroge, in this case enough to learn Japanese, and specifically asks for the genre. With all that considered, I think none of your arguments against "popular things" are valid and that you're being a little too scared for no good reason.

Are there any modern VNs, that have "gameplay" in the sense of like choosing what place to be in at a given time or something minigame-esque like Romanesque's dice game and lesson plans for example, not gameplay like Utawarerumono's TBT stuff or real time battles. Something like Princess Maker at the most, but not that game about running a orphanage brothel.

Also what's the absolute cutest VN, in terms of art rather than story, that's come out in the last 3 years. I don't care what it's about.(except it being not BL, shotatraps included.)

Because this isn't /a/ with it's "I know something and won't tell you" dumbness.

Not a super helpful answer. Unless /djt/ has changed a lot since I was an EOP it's an absolute shitshow for getting answers to literally any question. No one there actually knows Japanese and doesn't really seem to have any interest in learning. They just like to spam the dekinai girl. At least they aren't as bad as reddit, but that's setting the bar pretty low.
>>
God, this heroine is too damn relatable.
>>
>>19062055
Maybe, but it's just not my cup of cofee.
The muscle senpai is annoying(a bad parody of Masato), Misaki and her little shit are annoying. Asaka is a one-dimensional boring "I like everything!"
Plus I can't relate to MC. I would have just told every intrusive dude to fuck off if they can't understand that I don't want to fly for whatever reason.
>>
I finally finished Muramasa. It only took me 14 months and tons of stalling, but now I'm done.

Time to start Drapeko.
>>
So how's Aoitori? I played Amatsutsumi before but honestly wasn't very impressed. Hotaru's route was decent but not really anything that I haven't seen before.
>>
>>19065674
It's quite a bit worse than Amatsutsumi.
>>
>>19065206
>14 months
was it worth it? Did you like the VN? Did your Japanese improve noticeably?
>>
>>19062184
Holy shit, someone is playing Nega0.

Stick with it at least to the end of the first route for the first big twist that reveals what the game is actually doing.

I loved the ambition that the game had and the big picture thing it was going for, but the start and the scene to scene writing in general is pretty hard to defend, even before it tacks on the terrible gameplay, so I fully understand people giving up on it.
>>
>>19054984
Possibly eroge of year 2017
>>
>>19066723
well I am not very far in the game so far and I don't think i've really hit the main meat of it but i'm having fun with it. I think the characters are nice and there have been a couple of scenes that made me chuckle or made me crack a smile. i'm usually kind of picky when it comes to moege and SoL stuff but I'm really liking this. we'll see how it goes, i guess
>>
>>19067091
It's... really not a moege.

At all.
>>
>>19067117
yeah i understand that, i def wouldn't call the whole thing a moege in itself but i guess what i'm trying to say is that i like the character interactions
>>
>>19067134
Well, that's good I guess. I mean, the whole theme is anti-fun, anti-hopes and dreams, etc, but if you liked the parts that I felt were something you had to more endure, all the better.
>>
>>19054984
I got very bored of it after the first couple loops and eventually dropped it. The humor and writing in general has the same problems I had with the guy's games with chuable soft, and the protag's whole shtick getting annoying quickly didn't help.

>>
>>19070773
Motoka's route is in the main game, Yahiro's is in Haruka na Sora.
>>
>>19067193
I'm gonna join in and say that it was a very annoying experience for me too and dropped it after the routes started, but a lot of people like it and some say it's their game of the year so take it as you will. If you don't like it the first 15 minutes don't waste your time like I did, if you do then go on.
>>
>>19072341
I've never played Apeiria but usually the first 10-15 minutes of a VN is enough for me to tell whether or not I'd like a VN in general really.
>>
>>19072518
sadly I also had the same thoughts, though I made it to where they get into the MMO before giving up because the protagonist chooses armor that accentuates the size of his cock

beyond probably still has the best classic cartoon colourisation going for it. I think the guy responsible for it also worked on the dragon knight 4 remake among other things and left for silkys plus. people underestimate what a massive difference good CG colourisation can make. with the resolution increases of late you sometimes see this kind of overly detailed, "realistic" CG colourisation (e. g. biman), but this actually looks like crap because it is typically combined with highly stylised designs of human features, which does not fit at all together

After completing Senhinkan, both Hachimyojin and Bansenjin, I'm thoroughly convinced that the Senshinkan series is Masada's best piece of work. From the great SoL, the great chuuni action, to the great characters (The girls from the original minus Mizuki had eh romances but the routes were solid nonetheless) and to the fantastic villains. Whilst I loved Mercurius and Reinhard, I could by no means relate to their aims and ambitions, whereas with Amakasu and Jinron I could 100% see where they were coming from and could actually say they had a point (more so with Amakasu, but some people probably have felt similarly to Jinron at some point in their lives). Art and design were great, the bgm was on a whole different level. I look forward to Masada's next work and hope that he doesn't get stuck writing for a fucking mobage.

Just finished Island's "true" ending.

That other guy was right, this was one hell of a disappointment. Is this really the author's final draft for his story, the world keeps on reincarnating in the exact same form every 40k years? Seriously? That's fucking retarded, I'll take the time paradox of Setsuna jumping back and forth between present and future over that shit anytime.

You know, I could actually get behind the idea of Kuon being Linne instead of Rinne, I liked that additional twist and it added a cool new layer to Linne's character. I could have gotten behind it if Setsuna stayed with Kuon and they continued to live together and do SCIENCE for the rest of their lives. But the author wasn't satisfied with just that, he had to add extra layers of mumbo jumbo to overcomplicate the setting and to add insult to injury he had to end it with a vague "haha my journey is just beginning!" bullshit "ending". Rinne's ending felt a bit unsatisfying with her not regaining Linne's memories but at least it felt like an actual ending where things came together in a cohesive whole and had a sense of catharsis with Setsuna being freed from his time travel, succeeding in his mission and living happily ever after with the girl. Fuck, I knew I was getting into some kind of red pill situation with the true end but I was hoping the red pill wouldn't just be shitty writing. I wish I could forget I saw this ending, it's that bad. I hope the anime just goes with Rinne end.

Did she just make the MC promise to whore himself out to power her up with some BS excuses? Brilliant. Now it would be great if she really turned out to be some kind of manipulator bitch goddess of sex instead but this is a vanilla happy go lucky story we have here, mostly.
>>
>>19082781
It's Eushully. Their writing is always awful. Just depends on how much you can accept that awfulness. Some even like it. I hope. Otherwise it'd be pretty sad to not see it improve.
>>
>>19082951
Wouldn't go that far with Amayui, decently fun adventure/SOL stuff with conspiracies on the side so far but Fia just carries the whole thing due to the godly VA.

But yea its just amusing how this excuse is used for the MC to go do other side-heroines unlike Kamidori where the guy just starting having sex with everything without any explanation whatsoever. But with the world being Dir lifina with Gods and Goddesses and everything who work on different logic I can buy into this! Maybe.

I compared it to S;G:0 before and it's just worse in every regard IMO.
From MC to plot to even physics.
Even though S;G0 true end was similar, it was more fleshed out, more logical and more finished(because we know what happens next from S;G)
And that's while everyone and their mother shits on SG0.
I tried Island because I thought it was a plotge but it turned out to be a shitty all-ages moege with typical shitty moege drama and nonsensical infodumps.
