There isn't any possible malice from the source. The Tengu in question would have probably announced the death earlier, if not for the fact that she sadly knows that most of her fellow Tengu aren't interested in Village news.Besides, if anything, I would be rather worried that the obituary is some ploy between Ms. Shameimaru and Hieda no Akyuu.
