I always thought about her more in line with Paul the Apostle then 2hu Jesus since Paul persecuted Christians relentlessly until God spoke to him and he was converted, like how Hijiri went after Youkai, then pursued them for their power, and eventually came to the conclusion that they also deserved Salvation, so in essence they both became devout after being sinful, albeit Hijiri still isn't all the way there.I tend to write her into my stories a lot in a soft antagonistic role, not someone who straight away opposes the protagonist, but in some way the character's growth threatens Hijiri or is against one of her core beliefs. I think this is because Hijiri is truly a pseudo-saint, she has some of the truth and has done some good, but is too afraid to complete her journey and live a fully wholesome existence. So, someone who is actively growing and learning what the truth is scares her, since she can see herself within that person, and eventually she's compelled by some convenient excuse to obstruct that journey. It's also funny to write her struggle with someone who isn't so in love with their own life or someone who understands her inadequacies but still humors her out of kindness.
