Help me out here /jp/ because I really do not understand what the point of FW even was from a narrative perspective. So my understanding is:-AI floods Pyramid, endangering Gensokyo and the moon-Eirin comes up with plan to freeze Gensokyo in a timeloop to give moonies time to find a solution on their end, enlists various Gensokyo factions to help put up a measure to stop the time loop when the moonies fix their own shit.-FW happens, we beat up Ariya-Lock is undone, moon is safe and Gensokyo just uhhhh deals with it I guessWhat was actually the point of any of this shit? Ariya could undo the lock literally whenever, and for Gensokyo the result was the same as when we started so nothing was actually accomplished. Why should I feel anything but underwhelming anti-climax?Some quick retorts to common counterpoints I've seen:-Nothing happens in any Touhou game. Not true, even considering the nature of incidents there's usually a faction doing something to benefit themselves at the expense of others, so stakes feel real (stop the soul eating tree from being unsealed, restore the moon, fight back the invading moonies or beast spirits). Even in games where nothing actually happens like MoF at least ZUN gave us a neat status quo shake up while introducing important locations. FW just feels like LoLK with limp wrists.-We saved YuimanUh, no we didn't? She's still in the Pyramid as of FW extra, you just beat her up twice for no reason. -We saved the moon (again)Why would I care about the moon? Frankly I'm tired of foreign factions tricking the protags into saving them, it was a neat twist once, and a stupid and tired cliche now.
touhou fans realizing it doesn't have a story(this is bait ignore uh i guess yuiman isn't brainwashed anymore or something)
>>50288593The brainwashing was undone before you encounter her, this is explicitly stated. At best you snap her out of her confusion from being freed with no explanation or guidance from the moonies.
>>50288613oh well i skipped all of the dialogue and only played it once so i wouldn't know but if i try to reeach for anything maybe it served to introduce incident stones which will have more purposes later
>>50288647They'll be as important as the occult balls.
>>50288388The point is that orange man bad and AI bad (except when ZUN uses it)
>>50290137How many times have you used this image
>>50290191Not enough times, that image is so accurate it predicted Ariya and Nina.
>>50290230And people still somehow respond to you
>>50290230*responds to him*
>>50290293*her
