Wish I could! Genuinely. Blue Archive, for example, has quite a nice and nuanced main story, but the gameplay and the gambling aspects hamper any and all desire to see it through. Trickcal has an endearing art style and sense of humour, but the gameplay and the gambling murder any enjoyment that may have been derived therefrom. There was another one I tried, the uhhh post-apo nu-X-COM-like with gun girls. Had a really cool setting, and we need more X-COM-likes in general - but the gameplay and gambling... You get the picture.
And mind, all of this is coming from a chump who's farmed in Diablo 2 on and off for near on a quarter of a century. You'd think it'd be a cinch to hook someone like me in. Yet, they still fuck it up. Every time. Sad.

I'm gonna take this opportunity to rant a bit, I kinda hate that Grimoire of Usami made Seija and Shinmy go back to being friends. I actually liked that they were at odds with each other following DDC and ISC with Shinmy realising Seija's betrayal and scheming, that's a more interesting dynamic for two characters to have and having Shinmy go back to being friends with her and causing trouble just kinda implies she's a bad person and actually didn't learn her lesson at all, while also locking off any chance of character development and the inchlings befriending the surface worlders. I remember reading this one fic on ao3 that was a retelling of DDC and while the fic has a lot of problems (too many idiot ball moments and too much "toxic yuri" to the point where it kinda makes you stop to turn to the imaginary camera and say "what the fuck?") but it was very well written and I liked the ending where Seija basically gets declared enemy number one of the Inchling race and Shinmy dedicates herself to redemption and atoning for the Incident

Same as always. Scribble on a cue for the model then tag and inpaint. Can't recall the exact order due to being distracted by something else - no points for guessing what yeah, you got it, it was those fffucking half-translucent wings - but I think it went rough inpaint with 1x Whole picture into a detailing pass with Masked only at a higher resolution. To keep things low detail in the latter scenario, avoid tagging details - those related to the face especially.

Oh yeah. Should add ahead it slips my mind yet again. Made that gen with chosenMixXL_v30 instead of WAI. I've complained about other models before, but this one's remarkably close in methodology and performance. Somewhat worse at comprehending large prompts, but way, WAI better at paying attention to individual tags. Damn, I gave it a try and you're absolutely right, I'm impressed. Also has pretty much no style bleed either, at least compared to WAI. My style does end up looking ever-so-slightly different but that's only because this model is so good it actually pays proper attention to my lineart-related tags, so if anything it just IMPROVES upon it... very nice, I haven't tested it that much but I'm already able to tell that it's a lot more consistent with certain tags and less prone to ignoring some that WAI tends to ignore, might make it my default unless the large prompt thing is that big of an issue. Then again I don't really know what would classify as a "large prompt", seems kind of subjective. Picrel was genned using that model, if you're wondering (albeit upscaled with Personal as usual). Again, no style bleed.

- LOWER THE DAMN DENOISE
- if they're localised fixes, use inpaint at 1x resolution instead of straight i2i

Is that at base t2i res? For sweeping edits to the whole composition like that, upscaling afterwards is the best course. At t2i resolutions, there may just not be enough "grain" for your modifications to be recognised and resolved - especially if they're done to small elements. I've found doing major redraws at 1024x1280 (my base t2i res) then upscaling by x1.5 (final render before fine detailing) yields very workable results. 0.5-0.55 denoise for these. Overall it's much easier to get SDXL to cotton onto the tagged concepts with a larger pixel space, though what this obviously means is your edits are going to need to be more meticulous to match and to avoid having to denoise them at high values, which would invite discrepancies with the rest of the image.
To recap: do large edits - anatomy, background - on your low res renders, upscale, then edit fine details - hands, faces, props - on your higher-res render and inpaint to blend. This is a template that's worked for me since SD1.5.

Edits done after upscaling, unfortunately. Thought i'd be clever and try to downscale it back to 1x then hires it and it helped but was still a bit more saturated than I cared for but not as deepfried.
Ended up grabbing the seed and re-genning the original size and redoing all the edits again like the retard I am rather than try to fiddle with it more. At least the colors are back to normal and no more broken tank. >>50366243

Yep, that's how the thingamajig crumbles. If you edit on your final, your edits are going to need to be of close-to-final-ish quality, else denoise is going to fuck you. You can get lucky with a whole picture i2i/inpaint, but it's not something to be relied on. Sloppa is easy, right?

The final resolution is actually cropped down from the original, the burnt edge is because I had to detailer in that nitori after the fact and the detailer chewed it up. Then the detailer must have been set or set itself to an "improper" resolution. Happens all the time when anything works off of a coefficient, whether it is i2i upscaling with the Resize by multiplier, inpainting or stuff like ADetailer auto-selecting an area and re-generating at x1. The resultant tiles end up with loose pixels at the edges, and SDXL craps its pants. Better to just hard set any and all localised post-processing to 1344x1344 or something like that.

NTA but I work with ADetailer a lot, have you tried using the inpaint tab at 0 denoise and with ADetailer enabled, and then just tracing over the character? It'd be a way to make sure the ADetailer only makes changes to the character and not the background. Don't know how different it is in comfy but I assume you're currently just using i2i for the ADetailer process.

Theres some funky nodes I haven't quite sat down to think about and work into a condensed routine i'd have to set up to get actual "inpainting" properly. Mostly laziness on my part, and partly the results don't seem particularly different from how i'm already doing things incorrectly with more manual control.
A1111 and Reforge have undeniably the best and easiest inpainting methods.

In Parsee's case, it's because the blonde hair fits very well with the gold ornaments. Her secondary color (green) also compliments yellow, and by extension gold, very well. Hm. If you're referring to relying on inpaint alone, then I dare say draw/paste+tag+inpaint is still the more effective combo for SDXL than the RNG of pure tag-based regeneration. Could no longer be the case with some of the newer corpo models, but it'll be a cold day in Mokou's undies when I decide to throw my privacy away and familiarise myself with those. You did do a good job there; it's just that your resolution settings must be b0rked somewhere, giving you the artefacted edge. It would've given you the same result even if you'd used a "proper" inpaint function in, say, Forge. It's the model's flaw, not the tool's. Just gotta bend over and give it the numbers it wants.

You know, I'm gonna give some rambling that no one cares about.
I didn't even plan to include Misumaru, but I felt like she should at least get a look in once I'd started using the mines. Then, I remembered an old story I once wrote and never published, and a few plot points from it slipped in. I did at least mentally put Misumaru in a different category as far as the 'older women who may or may not consider Reimu Hakurei their daughter/little sister/neice/etc' go, though I'm not sure how well that actually came across. I'd probably never write the way Yukari interacts with Reimu the way I write Misumaru interacting with Reimu. I think the former is far more possessive, whilst Misumaru looks at her and sees her more like a Hakurei who hasn't quite hit her potential yet.
