Guys, am I being scammed or do people all rely on paid vehicle history reports for buying vehicles now?
I have never once seen a vehicle history report for any vehicle I've bought, and every report website looks like a scam.
>but I neeeeeed to know the secret history!!!
Dawg it's a $2k motorcycle, what you see is what you get why the fuck would anybody pay $50 for a report.

Only worthwhile if buying something expensive used to make sure someone isnt skirting around a salvage title with 1000 "minor" accidents claimed at insurance.
Otherwise no they are useless.
I generally pull the ownership history from VIN and look at the credit scores of the previous owners.

I just give the VIN out to whoever asks, but i also make it a point to let everyone know that the first person to show up with cash and a trailer gets to take it home. I sold my jeep last week for $200 below asking to the first person that looked at it. Sales are easy as long as you can create urgency within potential buyers.

Pros and cons
Pros:
>Very clear under NV
>Crisp dot that to me is more crisp than my T2
>Excellent battery life
>Good support
>Plenty bright
>Plenty dim

Cons:
>First one filled with fog rendering it useless
>Heavy and big
>Controls counter intuitive, routinely just gets left turned on because of this

Dont think im swapping T2s for this any time soon but uhh its an option.

That's what I always thought. Trying to sell a bike for $2k and I got two "interested parties" who seemed legit, but both had nearly identical stories about getting scammed before and needing me to go to some website (different for each though) their mechanic friend uses to buy a report first. Maybe I'm old fashioned but if I have to spend my own money on some sketchy website to even start the selling process, I'm not interested. For like an expensive car it makes sense but for a cheap bike they can fuck off.
>>62797845
I gave out the vin too even but they both had some story about how they couldn't do it and needed me specifically to do it. Even offered to take off the cost of the report from the price but still nope they just can't do it. The first guy linked me a 15/100 trust advisor rating website, the second wasn't much better. I sent them a screenshot and was like dawg, this is literally a scam. Seems kinda sus
You got a replacement for the jeep yet?
>>
>>62797911
It gives the buyer peace of mind and people buying crotch rockets for $2,000 are poor retards who won’t just do it themselves. It’s going to help facilitate the sale. For $60 I’d just do it

I was wading through freezing swamps, doing boat shit and generally being rained on for a couple days with it strapped to the top of a beltfed at that point.

So it wasnt like full of fog sitting in my gunroom randomly or some shit. My bet is that there was significant altitude change (like 5k ASL change) between my home and the swamps resulting the battery compartment just sucking in moisture. L&S claimed they didnt find any troubles with it but gave me a new one anyway despite me not being original owner.
>>62797911
Ive done comparisons with various sites "history" reports , the insurance departments of states and restricted databases against vehicles we know have fuckups and it a lot slipped through. They are functionally useless for most people.

>>62798184
Mounting a thermal to an MG in a dismounted role suck big shit. Gun already 30lb and now it has something ontop that will be KO'd by that 30lb so much easier. If you have good RTZ/Return it might be something cool to put on when youre in a SBF but naw not carrying that around.

Passive aiming through dot worked well since no tracers to walk things onto target. Your AG/WSL can designate things for you and you just slew/crank tripod onto the target and brrrrrrrp.

Mount on truck is a german ring mount
Has transport lock/stop for ring rotation but the pintel itself is freegun bounce city. If you dont have a gunner you just dismount the entire gun in german doctrine if you dont install the griffstuckhalte which makes it really hard to get into action.

After last thread I was going with the mbus pro, however I didn't realize it was very close to the scalerworks price.
If I were to go with that, what hight would I want? Eventually I will get an optic, but I don't know what I want yet. What is the advantage of the different hights?
Yes, I see that is between true or 1/3 co-witness, but they are back up sights. Why does that matter and what's the advantage?
(I misread the price on the mbus pro. I may still go with that.)
Also, what are known issues with scalarworks? I heard something about mounts breaking?

Even if you dont end up wanting a red dot in the end, you will atleast have a cheap red dot to put on other things. If you do want a red dot you have decent irons and something to use while you save for abetter red dot.

You make a compelling argument since I have 2 rifles and I can make a case for moving the holosun to the one with the mbus on it (the one I bought for my wife.) I can buy overpriced (or shitty airsoft) irons later and get my pistol optic back for my new pistol (pic related.) I originally bought the pistol optic for concealed carry and it sucked and broke and holosun sent me a different one but I don't want to CC an optic now. It makes more sense for a home defense gun.

Anything you will move will be a shittyish cabinet and will assist someone in stealing it
>Be A2s friend
>Disavantaged youth breaks into shitty apartment while he is at work
>Grabs his shitty safe
>Tries to haul it down stairs by self
>Neighbor hears a ruckus and sees the youth struggling to drag a safe out
>Neighbor helps him load it into his SUV
You should get a decent enough cabinet and spend the rest on defense in depth ideally.
Can you bolt to the floor or are you apartment/rent cuck?
On the low end? Stack on cabinet bolted to a stack of concrete pavers so the thing is extremely awkward to move without multiple people. Spend the rest on upping the personal property coverage in your insurance, tilt alarm , motion lights for external and door armor.

On the nice end? Secure-it agile Ideally a pair of them bolted together so its a PITA to get it out of the room its in. Snap safe titan a good bit beyond your budget but adds fire proofing ontop of the modular ability to basically assemble it in a room with a smaller door.

>3-4x isn’t enough, bump it to 6x
In defense of this set up it is useable for a lot in terms of training.
You can do your 7 yard flat range ninja stuff. You can shoot steel at 400y.
You can go do a night shoot.

I still think we have alot of hypebeast trend following stuff that is stupid going on but mlok combined with the popularization of taper profile barrels has been nice in dropping the weight and dramatically increasing the comfort of ARs. Before this recentish trend the closest you could get was getting an old Colt lightweight barrel and slapping a quad rail on it, not super ideal for a multitude of reasons. LPVOs have absolutely cooked 90% of people's brains though, but I think thats partially because an increasing amount of shooters understand you cant use your fighting rifle as a battleaxe for random tasks and so weve ratcheted down from requiring everything to be hyper bomb proof and overbuilt, which has led retards into thinking LPVOs are somehow worth it, at least partially

None of us run high pressure ammo anyway so a lot of the parts wear stuff is likely negligible and we’re more likely to run into soft ammo which the shorter gas will help cycle more reliably.

Centurion is not reddit but they are circling it. CHF is reddit. Magpul fixed carbine stocks are typically designed to fit standard carbine buffer tubes. The A5 system uses a different buffer tube design and length, so Magpul fixed carbine stocks are not compatible with A5 tubes. If you're looking for a fixed stock for an A5 buffer tube, consider Magpul's PRS or other stocks specifically designed for that system.

Search every sportsmans/hunting/rifle/ club/range in your area and scope them out individually. If that fails start approaching private land owners. Talk to local police and ask where they train.
Public land is nice but there is always a chance, even if small, that some knob will walk his dog over the hill. And in the fall I just don't go out shooting because I don't want to disturb hunters or the animals who are getting chased around. They don't need me disturbing their bed down. So I join a range anyway.
