As the World Wars were one continuation conflict, so is all this a Cold War hangover for contention that never truly went away-- the entire Russian poltiical apparatus is comprised of septuagenarian Soviet apologists (if not true believer die-hards) because they have nothing better to do or go with, given the inertia of nearly a century of strategic and active measures investment. The geopolitics incentives to continue to press into Europe in light of the food/energy/defense/demographic picture means Poland is square in their sights more or less to Peter Zeihan types' gestalt, and the fact is they needed to expedite this in 2014.
