This is perfection in its simplest form. No frills. No bullshit. Duck gun? Done. Brush gun? Sure. Deer, hogs, geese, black bear? All taken care of. Cheap. Insanely reliable. Instantly available ammo. Hits like a truck with slugs out to 100 yards. Prefect for home defense in the city or on the farm. Literally nothing wrong, all cope comes down to skill issues. It's the perfect weapon.
>>62882990yeah but i cant rapid fire it and rapid fire is fun, so it sucks lol
>>62883000>cant rapid fire itSkill issue.

>no frill>long tubeScared you'll miss faggot?
>...you need more
Dude i love mine so much, its like the only gun i have that constantly suprises me with how good it is-invincible-never jams-can shoot anything out of it-infinite skill ceiling, constantly getting better-my HD gun, my bird gun, my clay gun-sounds and feels like an elephant rifle with 3” HV slugs
>>62882990pumps are inferior to semi autos OP, and I've been shooting semis all my life starting at age 9, so nearly 40+ years. You are correct in terms of most things guns are actually really used in utility for, yes. Whether shooting rats, pests, deer or pigs at 50 yards, birds or home invaders. They don't and can't do what a silenced 22, scoped 270 or 44 mag revolver can do though which is just good news as more gun.You want to know what's a fantastic utility gun? Pic related 577 snider cavalry carbine, can fire 577 rifled quite nicely but can also do buckshot and as I discovered birdshot/ratshot except it will create a donut pattern (but still works and you still have better ranged accuracy). its also very small and handy.
>>62883194>semi autos are better than pumps>anyways heres my breech loader i reccomendWhat
>>62883194low quality copypasta
>>62883199yes semis are better than pumps, I was just doing a show and tell with the snider carbine because its fucking awsome
>>62883044A tool for 80% of the jobs doesn't try to do them all. You're a big kid you can stop fucking a cantalope long enough to get it.
>>62883200Semis are better than pumps. Sry that's reality, if you want to go anywhere other than semis go to a side by side hammer gun or a well made OU
>>62883200Do you have a 270 deer rifle or a silenced 22? Do you?
>>62883289>>62883499>Ah, the token nigger has arrived to talk about sex with other peoples mothers, as is their way in their 'culture'. I believe they call it Ebonics. I will try and communicate with it in its native languagehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1SwN70b0bw
>>62883207whats the advantage for a ss/ou over a pump?
>>62882990>This is perfection in its simplest formIt's great as a poorfag's workhorse, but perfection it is not. I've used the good old 88 to pop clays, birds, rabbits, and assorted pests, and while it gets the job done just fine there's always the thought of >y'know I kinda wish I had a gun a bit more refined and suited to the task instead of this chunky clunkerBut if a cheap shotgun is what you need, it's the best in it's class.
>>62883571Well there is no point at all in owning a pump over a semi, you might want a hammer side by side over either for convenience if you are pout rough shooting as its very save and easy to carry broken under your arm and bring in quick and the hammers make its condition very easy a good OU is the choice for clays and skeet. If you came out with me and a couple of dogs on a frosty morning in nice country you'd appreciate carrying a well made side by side hammer gun broken over your arm pretty quick as we walked. They are extremely safe guns for rough shooting and when navigating gates and ditches. personally I've never been much into OUs but I get why they are better and why people who are better shots than me prefer them for clays. I've used semis for everything from rabbits to boar to deer and birds from carrion crows to pheasant with great success and they are a completely reliable technology for decades now and better than pumps. A good well made side by side hammer gun that fits is a hell of a thing for rough shooting though. Pumps offer nothing for me at least though, all the disadvantages of a semi with none of the advantages. It used be that they would cycle anything and semis could be picky but that has not been true for 20 years now even with fairly cheap semis if they are broken in right.
>>62883583no semi has ever approached the stress test the mossberg 500 cleared. No semi handles a mud test like a mossberg 500 has. Semis are not appreciably faster than a mossberg 500. Semis are reliably 50% more expensive than a mossberg.
>>62882990Close, but no cigar. Get with the times old man
>>62883125If eight shots is for missing, so is six.
>>62883044100yd is far enough for most situations. If you're shooting further for hunting then get a purpose built hunting rifle. But it will have one use, and that's hunting big game.
>>62883583>decent semi>$1,100+>amazing pump>$220Idk man I'd rather own the pump and have money left over for a great carry gun or nice rifle. There's no utilitarian advantages of a semi over a pump in the field outside of #skill-issue
>>62883571Break-action guns have a number of advantages over pumps and semis. First off there's no bolt taking up space in a double gun. That means the gun is lighter and you can either have the same barrel length in a shorter overall package, or you can have longer barrels but keep the same overall length. You have an instantaneous second shot that doesn't have to wait on you pumping the handle or a semi action cycling. The second shot also cannot short-stroke, misfeed, or jam. In fact even if the gun suffers a mechanical failure or the shell is a dud you still have an instant 2nd shot. The fact that you have two barrels means you can have two different chokes in the gun at the same time, and when you're hunting or shooting clays you can choose to fire which barrel suits the situation best. You could even do the same with two totally different shells in the gun giving you more flexibility with what game you might encounter innawoods. See durr? Fire slug. See rabbit? Fire #4 birdshot. The ergonomics are also superior to pumps and semis, and that matters for guns you will be point-shooting rather than aiming like a rifle. The big disadvantage of double guns is capacity. For most shotgun tasks like shooting clays or hunting this really doesn't matter due to the rules of skeet/trap/etc, and hunting laws. As a fighting weapon it's a huge disadvantage, but I'd argue that if you want a fighting weapon you want a rifle or carbine over a shotgun.
>>62884481>>amazing pump>>$220lolwhut. You can get a passable pump for that kind of money, but an amazing one? Fuck no.
>>62883000Interesting furniture for a hi-point. You make it?
>>62884437i rather shoot whitetail with my .243 sometimes with my .308 then a shotgun
>>62882990>>62883150Very based. I paid just a bit more for the 590, though I’ve considered getting a Maverick 88 to use as my beater gun. Something I can toss a pistol grip on and keep stashed in my truck for sketchy trips.
>>62884709Maverick 88 is pretty amazing. I use mine more than my benelli supernova.
>>62883044Get a rifled barrel and shoot sabot slugs.
>>62883144I need less, actually.
>>62884762I prefer slugs, to each their own.
It's good value for money, I'll give you that, but I have a hard time describing an early Wingmaster as "amazing", so a Mav88 certainly isn't.
>>62884141I'm not a fag like you so I only need 1.
>>62885872isnt that just a rifle with extra steps
>>62886369Yes, however, you can also shoot buckshot and birdshot and other objects if you're adventurous all in the same gun. Shotguns truly are the best.
>>62886391>Yes, however, you can also shoot buckshot and birdshot and other objects if you're adventurous all in the same gun.if its rifled your shot distribution with bird and buck will be horrible. shit turns into a donut. not a perfect one so still get some in the center but most end up at the edges to the point its irresponsable to use like that.
>>62886461>if its rifled your shot distribution with bird and buck will be horribleSure, but the context of this conversation is having both a rifled and a smoothbore barrel.

>>62889291Take yer swing
>>62883044buckshot is more accurate than you think and rifled slugs will turn it into a shitty rifle if you really need it to
>>62890209i have the same short mag one and i prefer itget a pistol grip/folding stock for it and one of those gimmicky shotgun scabbards and you can very easily just throw it on the side of a backpack
>>62891070i also have the 28" ribbed barrel because it came with the gun and i much prefer the shorter one. same way i think the short mag barrel is probably better than the longer tube.>get a pistol grip/folding stocki was thinking about a pistol grip stock actually. shame you cant swap the pump though because id prefer something more grippy.
>>62891047Accuracy is not the problem with buckshot at range. The problem is the spread can have huge holes in the pattern at distance with so few pellets. It's possible to aim perfectly yet still have every pellet miss. Also, spherical shot has miserable ballistics. It loses energy rapidly to air resistance, at 100 yards a lot of buckshot is barely doing 500 fps
>>62883199>>62883194he's giving you extra gun per post and should be commended
