What are our thoughts on the 40th anniversary P226? Did Sig make something decent for a change?

>milled slide
>night sights

>SRT

I don't like guns with rails on them because I never use them.
>>
>>62910666
Not my gun, Satan, but I saw it in the last thread and thought it would bring a little class to the board.
>>
>>62910671
Yeah, it's a good gun, but I really think the stainless elite was the pinnacle of Sig design. I really love a big heavy steel frame.

Not sure why it was designed like this.. it's not comfortable and looks shit. IDK guess ranting.. happy Friday yo
>>
>>62910671
I highly doubt they're using special parts, so it's literally just any other current production P226, but without a rail. So "for a change?" No, same as it ever was. You could add those things likely for the same or less cost, other than the no-rail

That poster was not me, just another anon with a 39. I did a little research and apparently someone makes identical new magazines for the 39. It even has the same style of follower. They sell them on numrich.
>>62910763
I believe my spare was a promag. Im not sure because they are unmarked. I didnt like the extra lip so I cut and blued it to match the original. The whole process took less than an hour and was well worth it. The follower is also different on the promags.

Everyone else says they hurt to shoot https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROTJTKXs_Eo
This guy might just be a whiny bitch.
I found my PPK in 32 to have light to moderate recoil and it never came close to hurting. It also handles far better with follow-up shots than my LCP and it also penetrates better.
Idk. Maybe 380 PPK is the same but given all the whiny bitches it anecdotally isn’t.

New England firearms r92 ultra. Found it at a pawn shop. It's a fun plinker 22. Only complaint is that the brass really sticks in the cylinder, and takes some force to eject. If anyone knows why, let me know. The brass is bulged near the rim. I have cleaned the ever loving shit out of the cylinder and ejection star, no luck.

First time gun owner here. I’m not sure why, but I enjoy shooting handguns a lot more than long guns. Feels more involved.

What are some easy upgrades I can add? I’m not crazy about adding stuff, I doubt I have the skilll or round count to fully appreciate or utilize a lot of stuff on the market, but at the very least I was thinking of an upgraded spring kit from Taran Tactical for the trigger and maybe swapping the sights but not sure what. I opted for Micro Dagger mags for capacity, and have a TLR6 HL on the way, so I’ve checked those boxes off.
>>
>>62911414
No, retard. You’re just holding it like a bitch like this anon suggested >>62911394
>>
>>62911416
>first time gun owner
dont upgrade, buy a new gun. Buy two, buy one with a hammer, buy a revolver, buy a px4, etc.

Imagine reading a single book and then asking how to upgrade the cover or what kind of new bookmark should you get.
We suggest you just buy the next book in the series or experiment with a new genre to become more experienced.
>>
>>62911439

>>
>>62911416
The first thing people usually upgrade are the sights. To be honest the stock Glock sights with the big white dot and the U-notch are pretty good defensive sights for a microcompact like the 43X, but it's an option. You could also change the trigger shoe. I change every Glock trigger to an Apex one just because I like the shoe. Could get an extended mag release like the G34 one, or the Vickers Tactical, but that doesn't really matter on such a small CC-focused gun.
There is a lot you COULD do, if you like your gun so much you want to. But if I just had one gun, I think I'd also just buy another gun.
And ammo and magazines.

>>
>>62911513
It's because revolvers are kind of dogshit and the only cool things about them are the feeling of weight and power. Some Heritage pot metal .22 doesn't have either of those so you're just left with a piece of old dog shit you bought for $100.

Normally, I don't recommend modding new guns, but the best and really only upgrade you need for a Glock is a Ghost 3.5lb connector and maybe some sights if you want. This will make it much nicer and easier to shoot. Spend your money on ammo and range time until you are pretty good with your Glock, then rent some other guns to see what you like.
https://ghostinc.com/3-5-lb-trigger-connector-for-glocks-gens-1-5/
Im sure someone will call me a faggot fir this, but another really cheap and easy project is you could color fill your lettering. I used this method on one of my guns.
https://youtu.be/6fFQ0F2U-B8?si=ffZX1CYMX20-tpgf
>>
>>62911558
I tried putting a ghost 3.5 in my glock, it *might* have slightly made the trigger lighter, but it became super mushy, and it bexMe very stiff when racking the slide.
I took it out and tried putting it in a few different times, same issues.
>>
>>62911513
>>62911525
I don't have a revolver or a .22 pistol and I think it would help me get out and shoot more for as little as possible. I mean, it's cheaper than a bar tab so what have I got to lose, really?
>>
>>62911558
Isn't the 3.5 Ghost connecter basically a polished minus connecter? I would think the Ghost shit is useless until you hit the Edge which actually changes the trigger feel in totally different ways than just polishing.
>>
>>62911512
Yeah, the inside joint on my thumb sticks up way more.
>>
>>62911571
>what have I got to lose, really?
$100.
You can get a Taurus TX22 for like $250 and it's a 40x better gun
>>
>>62911564
I did not have any of those issues on a gen 3 G19.
>>62911573
Worked on my machine.
>>
>>62911571
You could put that money towards a usable gun.
Get a glock or M&P in 9mm.
If $103 is "just a bar tab" to you, then the price of 9mm over 22lr should be of little concern.
>>
>>62911584
Well why not just get the Ghost Edge to see a vast improvement rather than the regular 3.5 to see a small improvement?
>>
>>62911584
The part if the connector that sticks up to get reset by the slide or whatever is noticeably taller than the stock one.

Do Gen 4 Glocks have worse triggers than Gen 3s? I have to carry a Gen 4 G17 for work and it feels worse than the Gen 3 Glocks I've shot.
>>
I really hoped ARG would be able to contain the pptroon for a few days but she's already back at it.
>>
>>62912329
Gen 4s are usually slightly better, especially when broken in.
The gen 5 stock trigger is the best of the stock triggers.
>>
>>62912360
What was pptroon doing in ARG?
I can no longer suffer such faggotry to go there.

Trying to talk about her piece-of-shit mini-14 from the 80s that required a fix, and she bought the worst and most terrible fix for it possible. Funniest part is she doesn't even have the gun yet!

All in a thread ABOUT AR-15s. She can't even be assed to make her own thread or stay on topic and posted handgun photos there too. The denizens there predictably did not take kindly to her at all.

Thank you fren!!!
I am indeed a machinist...CNC though, mostly Mazak mill/turn lathes...i do hop on a bridgeport every now and again
...those calipers are good quality indeed they look so rough because ive had them for probs almost 20 years!...cheers!

>>62912371
The same thing that retard does here: buying ancient non-working shit to be a hipster and bragging about how great it is, then trying to hamhand a retarded fix when it doesn't work.

I've got a Ruger Wrangler that I really like. I think it feels a lot better than the heritage potmetal guns, they only go for like 100 bucks more and I think it's worth it. 22 revolvers are great if you enjoy the act of shooting as well as the act of reloading. If you only objective is to shoot more but fast, then get a Taurus TX22 as that one anon said. If fidgeting with the controls of a revolver is therapeutic to you, then a 22 revolver is perfect
>>
>>62912664
The ruger wrangler is also cast Zinc frame, tard.

Just fucking figure out what's happening and fix it FFS.

$129.7 plus tip, tax and ship, and another tax for this little shit, wth over $200 to being able to use a red dot on my APX A1 witch said “optics ready” when brought it

>>
>>62912664
> If you only objective is to shoot more but fast,
My goal is to spend more time outside at the range and work and work on slow fire accuracy ornat least consistency. The slow shooting and loading is actually an advantage.
>If fidgeting with the controls of a revolver is therapeutic to you, then a 22 revolver is perfect
I think that would also be fun.
>>
>>62912880
You can slow fire a semi auto.
The Taurus TX22 gen 2 is your best option because it's a .22 with a mag capacity of 15+ that is also optics ready and can even be used as a carry gun in a pinch. It's also $250-$300.
In order to get an actually decent .22 revolver you have to shell out for a Ruger Super Wrangler which is shit and old and still zinc.

LoL in an ISO9001 or AS 9100 environment, you have a log of all the calibrated measuring equipment that tells you when everything needs to be inspected for accuracy. For calipers I usually set them at a year unless they are particularly high use. The idea is that, if they are no good, you have a point where you start your investigation for non-conforming material. Most equipment gets a little sticker like pick related for traceability.
>>
>>62912907
I'm simply not interested in that gun, thank you.

Aside from finish, which is debatable, what is wrong with this? I could live with the finish?
>>
>>62912909
Oh lol i see...naw we dont do that here...you cant really qualify digital calipers anyways...i just make sure they read zero when there closed....haven't let me down in almost 20 years!

I should've said calibrate

I am riding in a wild west rodeo, good pay, but I miss the 9100 vibe and Cochise knowledge can be frustrating.

I got a order to make a coolant for magnesium cutting, its absolutly insane to work magnesium with water :3 Needs special rust inhinitor to slow down hydrogen formation, creats tons of hard water, all sulfonats wont work... amazing
>>
>>62912956
Now is that gadget block traceable to NIST standards, kek. Honestly, it's certainly good enough for most work.
Are you working on a Saturday? Machinists are the most OT loving people I have ever met.

Digital calipers are just magnetic encoder readers and even cheapos are literally "gud enuf" unless you're holding 'aff a thou.

Never done that
Most exotic cutting ive done would probs be titanium
>>62912975
I am working rt now lol
I usually dont like to work Saturdays and its mostly up to us if we wanna come in but your correct about most machinists loving OT lol
>traceable to NIST standards
No, honestly most measuring tools in our shop arent...we (thankfully) dont do work for alot of customers that demand that type of certification....which is fine by me :)
>>
>>62912974
Do Mobil or Total not make a coolant for this application? Can't you just copy their homework and chang it enough to make it legally distinct?
>>
>>62911413
looks like a CVS toy aisle water pistol.
>>
>>62912982
We always use the term "verify" to make the distinction between just checking if measuring equipment is in tolerance and actually making adjustments to be within a certain range, but calibration is just the general term for all of it.
>>
>>62913020
I understand metrology. And have developed sensors and sensing technology beyond normal capacities. But yes.
>>
>>62913020
>verify
That's a good way to put it
If im holding .0005 or less on a diameter im turning ill "verify" my micrometer with a gage block stack thats the size dia im trying to hit

That guy with his gay camo FN is as bad as the dog troon. He keeps avatarfagging with it and posted a selfie where he is dressed like an absolute homo with a hipster beard, pink Hawaiian shirt, and some other gayness.
Worst of all, he insists the FN509 is the best polyshit pistol, even defending the dog ass hinged trigger.
>>
>>62913109
509anon also glazes the poopootroon as well
>>
>>62913047
>ill "verify" my micrometer with a gage block stack
Yeah, that's a great method. It's kinda funny how going from a scale (steel rule) to a cliper is a big jump, but when you get serious, you break out the micrometer.
>>
>>62913109
>>62913115
Man, now you guys are outing yourselves as straight up trolls. 509 anon is nice and helpful to everyone and he actually shoots his gun. He also goes to the rental ranges and gives detailed reports on how each gun handled, shot and generally felt. If you have a problem with that dude, you are in the wrong place.
>>
>>62913153
>Hey this guy who enables some of the worst posters out there sometimes gives a report no one cares about at a rental range!

This turbo gay "I'm not touching you!" faggotry about cherrypicking on topic posts of the usual shitposters needs to end, some posters are a net negative to this place.

A friend at work sold me some blazer aluminum 9mm for next to nothing. Went to the range and put idk 70ish rounds through my Beretta 92 and had 3 occasions of the last round staying in the mag but the slide locking back....ive put probs 400ish rounds of federal brass though it since i bought it and its worked flawlessly....anyone else have issues with blazer aluminum?
>>
>>62913171
(you) are the worst poster ITT. The absolute worst of PPanons faggotry absolutely pales in comparison to your quite literally nonstop kevetching. You are like the Jewish mother in law of this thread.
>>
>>62913194
I have not had that issue, so I'm sorry I can't help. I just wanted to say that's a pretty cool pick. The knit cap on the cat really makes it.
>Saved.
>>
>>62913194
Blazer aluminum is probably some of the worst ammo you can buy, worse than steel case, it doesn’t function well in Glocks, Beretta, or Sigs I’ve tried it in, it’s just underpowered garbage.

Supposedly gen 5>4>3. That being said, I don't find Glock triggers consistent gun to gun. I own three gen 5 Glocks (19, 26, 45) and the trigger is different on all of them; ironically my only USA made one, the 26, has the best trigger of the three.

What is the final solution to the Glock trigger question?
I like Glocks and everything but the trigger is obviously the weak spot. Honestly it's good enough for actual defensive use, but with the hobby being what it is there is no reason to not fix it. I'm surprised there isn't one single package most people agree is THE thing to go with like the Langdon TJIAB or the Cajun thing for CZ.
>>
>>62912996
Might be, but at the end i have to make it work with whatever i getbfor Magnesium for a local source. They got only 1 usable chemical so everything needs to build around it. Not a project i like, i rather wanna something for brass cleaning :3 Next week i gonna visit those guys and snack whatever chemicals they got, time to make something for our gunsmith Anons and I also got a cutting fluid for standart CNC or slide cutting (steel and alu)

What did they change?
I am looking for a retro style 1911 only with not GI sights, so that's probably not what I'm looking for, but I'm still shopping.
