I have a partially assembled P80 (full size) from somewhere that I've been meaning to finally find a slide to throw onto it, but frankly it's not something I really care for. Plastic guns never appealed to me, though I've shot some really boutique, high quality ones over the years, like the VP-9, P-10. And some more standard ones like the average Glock and the M17. Am I crazy or is the grip angle way worse on the single stack Glonks compared to the double stack ones? I've had good luck shooting a 22 and a 26, but when I picked up a 43 it just didn't feel the same. I had to tilt my wrist so much further 'down' to get the correct sight picture.
I'm torn on my next firearm, been looking at the Glock 19 or a Beretta M9 but keep being drawn towards other handguns such as HK USP. What would you guys recommend?

So close to the truth. Glock isn't THE best. Because ultimately it's user preference. Firearm technology has advanced to such a degree that ultimately any 9mm double stack polymer framed firearm is as good as the other. Be it Springfield, Canik whatever, these consumer level firearms are ultimately, in performance, equivalent. Getting good hardly relies on the firearm you own, as long as it's equivalent to the 'standard'. What actually matters is going out and shooting the fucking gun. Getting consistent and effective training in. Using the money spent on consooming and instead buying more ammo. Going to shooting comps if they're in your area. So on and so on. The guy with a fine gun, who's put 1500 rounds through it in good training, is probably significantly better than the guy with an exceptional gun who's only shot it 500 times. It's not really contingent on brand or price as long as the firearm meets an acceptable standard, like having adequate barrel lengths, sights, lock up, you know. General quality.
