I use the hose clamp as a throw lever and I bent the end back with pliers so it wasn't sticking out. Originally it was a stopgap till I got an actual throw lever but it works so well I haven't seen a reason to spend an extra 50 bucks on an actual throw lever.

So in terms of quality, how does the BRN-4 compare to actual H&K? Is it more or less the same, or does the $4000 markup actually give something

During the /arg/ 416 building spree of 2022 we were getting HK haus or recontoured barrels to have proper chf cl barrels. The first couple runs of BRN 4 stripped uppers were fine but later runs were being reported as having crappy machining, not sure if that issue has been resolved. The ancillary parts are functional, but from my experience the brownells bolt spring is shitty, get a hk bolt spring. There were many of us here that built bootleg 416's with brownell parts but I'm not sure if someone here actually got a complete BRN 4 upper.
