Anyone else that compete in IPSC think all those fancy race-guns "competition guns" are basically an AID for retarded shooters who couldn't shoot for shit normally?>Competing in Production / Production Optics, but usually stay in production and use the good 'ol stock sights>Out of 120 shooters, i came 16th>Cant no matter what i try beat the cunts using those fancy race guns>End up trying one, literally zero recoil, feels like a 22lr pistol>So easy to shoot any retard can shoot it>Did a practice run, 10 paper-targets, every single hit was an alpha>Give me gun to someone that owns one of these fancy guns, give him my production M&P9 Pro>All of a sudden, cant shoot for shit, cant hit a single fucking thing>Rinse and repeat with other shootersIPSC is literally pay to win.
>>64498379never happened
>>64498381Go away noguns.
>>64498379you're exaggerating but yeah, the entire point of competition arms is to be as easy to shoot as possible while self-defense and milspec shit is supposed to be reliableyou don't need to lube and clean a milspec ar every hundred shots, but you do have to do that for a comp one or you start risking jams
>>64498383you're posting a stock photo of a M&P9
There is no such thing as an "IPSC" gun. It's all marketing. Only match triggers actually matter and they are available for many standard guns.
>>64498409>Only match triggers actually mattert. has never bought a rough finish gun and filed it by hand
>>64498398>you're exaggeratingNo I'm not, the skill, proficiency, and consistency you need with a production gun is way higher than that of a fancy "race gun" that shoot incredibly flat.>>64498409> Only match triggers actually matterWrong. Compensator / Ported barrels Help a tremendous amount.
>>64498379>S&W M&PThe most boring gun on planet Earth and it isn't even close.
>>64498379IPSC is like formula 1 for guns, rules are biased toward race guns, other shooter will recommend you race guns and even tell you to reload your own ammo (but won't share their load because they fear competition), of course the whole thing cost a fortune and maintenance on them is high.some of them are good shooters tho, give them whatever gun you have and they can still make scores, some that use nothing but race guns will eventually lose the habit of using standard weapon with normal ammo and will do shit with them
>>64498421>some of them are good shooters tho, give them whatever gun you have and they can still make scores, some that use nothing but race guns will eventually lose the habit of using standard weapon with normal ammo and will do shit with themTrue to a certain extent, the ones that shot mind didn't even achieve 40% of the shots from earlier on - Quite the opposite when i tried their guns. It just felt fucking easy, like a video game.
>>64498428yeah, it's on purpose to be this easy, then it all come down to time so they calculate feet position and stance during the try out to see how fast they can move during the actual match.
>>64498421ha! they don't share their loads because they game power factor. it is impossible to guarantee shooters meet minimum power factor requirements without giving competitors the ammo for the match.
>>64498379Its about making "shooting" as easy as possible. Some tweedle dee wont pick up a race gun and drive tacks into the same hole for 15 rounds in a row, but an already good shooter will do better. At the absolute peak of any competition there are a few things that make a difference>genetics>equipment>cheatingOf course theyll all be using the "best" equipment but theyll be perpetually looking for any slight edge they can. Genetics are uncontrollable of course, and if you can ever get away with cheating in some way it gives you a massive edge because the other factors of genetics and equipment are already mostly equallized(only top genes and top equipment at the top), while cheating is actively rooted out
competition shooting is the most participation award heavy sport on the planet. you're admitting you've eunuched yourself by participating in it
>>64498468>Its about making "shooting" as easy as possible. That shouldn't be the case.
>>64498379Fuck yamudda, schizo-boy
>>64498505If the goal is shooting targets accurately and quickly why would making it easier not be good
>>64498549Because the entire argument boils down to:>well you wouldn't carry it so it doesn't matterIt's like saying someone racing a super modified can't go around a race track as fast in a Camry and then being salty that you don't race a super modified.
>>64498379It's an absolute cheat code. Turns out if you tune a gun to how you prefer to shoot, it work REAL GOOD.
>>64498379>Get optimum equipment for task X>Complain that said equipment improves performanceI don't understand the complaining here.
>>64498421You know this is bullshit because there is nothing a reloader wishes for more than someone else asking them about their loads. They'll tell you every single fuckin detail about their 5 years of trying different powders, bullets, primers, presses, etc. It is literally what they pray for every single night. Ask this of any open shooter at a match and it will be all they talk about as they tape targets with you.>>64498379This is the same kind of fantasy no guns make every four years when the Olympics come on and they start talking about how they totally blew that air pistol shooter's mind when they showed them the massive recoil of their 9mm shitbox gun.
>>64499581>You know this is bullshit because there is nothing a reloader wishes for more than someone else asking them about their loads. Also Olympics shooting is fucking gay as fuck.
>>64499969>Olympics shooting is fucking gay as fuckt. can't actually shoot
>>64499969>Also Olympics shooting is fucking gay as fuck.If I handed you the gold metalist's gun and sent you on your way to a region level competition you wouldn't even place, let alone national.
>>64502532>>64501181Its a gay fucking sport, take your gay bb gun elsewhere.
>>64499581No, see >>64498466
>>64502583>t. 25m target looks like a shotgun patterning boardlol
>>64498421ISPC is spree shooter: the sport.
>>64498379Its really funny when people seethe about raceguns, as if its not "fair", or cope about them not being "practical". Sure, you can't conceal them, but that doesn't mean they're not practical. If you had to open carry a pistol as a cop or security guard, and funds/rules weren't an issue, why wouldn't you want a big red dot, a compensator and a flared magwell? There are even tactical goober builds like the Roland Special that are approaching race gun features. Firearms are inherrently about using technology for enhanced capability, you can definitely minmax too much in a specific direction, but features making it easier just means you can apsire to be even faster/more accurate.
>>64502583You can't hit a dinner plate at 30yd, just say that
>>64504371>why wouldn't you wantHeavy as fuck and gets in the way due to its size. Cops already have spinal problems from all the shit on the belt.>Roland specialThe comps on those things are 95% placebo. Standard pressure 9mm doesn't make enough gas to work the comp appreciably. They're mostly just noise makers that increase gunshot sound that the shooter's ear and distract the shooter from noticing the muzzle flip as much. The little red dots are great, but they only became a thing once they got absolutely tiny. Scoped pistols meanwhile have been a thing for decades in sport shooting (of many kinds) and had not traction outside of them. You're right about the people who whine about competition guns. They're the kind of people who insist that its notnfaor, but would still shoot like dogshit if given all those benefits as well. It's just a self defense mechanism that allows them to paper over their own failures to develop themselves in any sort of way. It's a really childish and petty jealousy.
>>64504631>The comps on those things are 95% placeboHuh, interesting, I've never used a comp on my own guns, but I have a short can on my fullsize pistol, and it helps with recoil due to the the weight, at what point does a comp make a signifcant difference, .40, 10mm?
>>64504969It depends. There's so many factors and none of them really have much to do with caliber.
>>64499581I use those Peltor at the range, lol.
>>64498379It's not just P2W, it's contaminated conceal carry "tactics" with blatantly stupid and unsafe bullshit like safetyless single actions (ie: vp9, p365, p320) carried AIWB.>Just never make a mistake bro. If you can make a mistake, you just shouldn't be on the firing line. The only safety a badass expert pistol guy like me needs is his finger, you fucking retard. Just don't handle guns if you're afraid of an ND. Besides, firing pin blocks NEVER stick in a failed position and sears NEVER slip. Ever! It's a one in a million chance (just like my chances of needing to use a pistol as survival equipment)!Kek. Back in the real world, ever since cops adopted mere *half cocked* strikers en masse, which lack the "dirty FPB stuck and sear slipped on a worn out or lemon-grade gun" failure mode, they have been shooting themselves, each other, and civilians unintentionally almost weekly because in real life stressful situations, especially with brain fog from injury and exercise/melee tacked on, people fuck up.And it is simply harder to fuck up with a trigger with a longer initial pull and an additional visual and tactile indication that the gun is about to fire (the hammer). Hence why cops keep getting forced into using 12lb glock triggers that make them worse shooters for every pull (and try to get a safety'd single action, DAK/LEM or DASA approved for on duty carry if they're smart)This is common sense the mass market has been absolutely fucking robbed of because 90% of civilian shooting is competitive gun racing. Because in gun racing, people simply fuck up much less than they do in combat.
>>64505843This is lost wisdom. Besides the general refusal to account for how few mechanical parts have to stick or slip for these guns to go off on their own. A lot of the old studies on how safe a pistol design is under stress are gone, paper only, redacted, archived, etc. Inspector general and force science institute reports on factors contributing to NDs are all gone from the internet. They were up last year so maybe sig paid to have them scrubbed. Here's a news article that remains.https://www.latimes.com/local/california/la-me-sheriff-guns-20150614-story.htmlAdmitting that imperfect gun safety is a possibility is literally an indefensible cardinal sin in the modern gun community. Everyone instantly interprets it as an admission of and an excuse for personal carelessness and uses and recommends the least mistake tolerant gun possible to virtue signal how supposedly careful they are and how everyone should beSomehow, a combination of a gun that is a little more robust in the face of a mistake (ie: a basic extra safety measure like the ability to thumb the hammer) AND a superhuman effort towards being the safest operator on earth is not an option, B has to make A useless in the modern gun person's mind. And everyone who fucks up is just obviously dumber than everyone who hasn't fucked up (and it's easy not to fuck up if you're just playing games on the range) - "oh obviously the cops and soldiers cant shoot. now me, who woke up fresh and showed up to the range to have fun, i can handle a gun"
>>64504631IIRC the comp on the Roland special was to protect the light from carbon build up
>>64505843Compfags are even why everyone sucks off 9mm now. Better scores. Better times. In theory it’s good and IPSC doesn’t lie. But they’re still failing to sufficiently damage fast-stop vitals until they get half a magazine into a man. Also most 2011s arent even drop safe (the firing pin block isnt even there to fail because it worsens the trigger pull)
raceguns are sick and youre a nerd
>>64505960raceguns are only cool if they’re in .45 ACP. that’s a fact, jack.
