Su-57 actually has side bays?
>>64500089>side bays
>>64500089Knowing the russians I wouldn't be surprised if they couldn't be used while supersonic.
No, it doesn't.This is the T-50, which is the prototype of the Su-57. The fins you see carrying the white missiles are forward strakes. They're there to help turbulent air be more favorable for the engine inlet and for other aerodynamic purposes
Never understood why they didn't make the central bays flush with the intakes. Wouldn't they be deeper thus able to hold much more missiles this way?

>>64500380drag
>>64500387>Those bomb bay panel gapsYep, precision Russian engineering at work, definitely a stealth aircraft guys. Compare the F-35 closed bomb bay on the right, no difference at all in build quality.
>>64500320So like how Klingons can't use ship weapons while cloaked?
>>64500402Its the thought that counts, anon.
>>64500089I could give you a thirty page paper on why the S-57 isn't cost effective and why Russia should be mass producing AN-2/PO-2 equivalents with all the money they wasted on the SU-57 project but no one would listen. That's ok, personally i'm glad all that money was wasted and as long as it's gone and not in Russia's hands i'm happy.
>>64500089Slut
For a while i thought the 57 was a yuuuuge bitch then i actually looked at the stats and its the same size as an f-22?Why is the forward bay so small?
>>64500384Russia makes the coolest shit and I'm tired of the faggots on this board pretending they dont.
>Su-57Dead plane. Russia can't even produce spare parts anymore due to sanctions and cyberattacks.>>64500468>why Russia should be mass producing AN-2/PO-2 equivalentsRetard take. At that point just go full dronefag already, at least you won't be feeding expensive pilots into a woodchipper.
>>64500387>>64500402supposed 5th gen fighter, btw
>>64500402Looks fine from further away :^)
>>64500941I'm partial to the Su-30 myself
>>64500941If by cool you mean gay, retarded and doesn't work as advertised then yeah
>>64501205Especially on radar
>>64500981>expensive pilotsIn WW1 the US Army Airforce was training biplane pilots on average in 7-8 weeks, around 15% of them didn't even know how to drive a car before they began training to fly a aircraft. You could walk into your local supermarket, grab a random 12-13 year old child and two or three months later turn her into a Po-2 pilot. WW1 biplane pilots have stated many times in their biographies that learning to fly a biplane was easier than learning how to drive car, some of them couldn't drive a car but they could fly.
>>64501516 Flying a PO-2 or other ancient model is much MUCH different from flying more modern military aircraft.
>>64501516Back then pilot training had a non-negligeable fatality rate.
>>64500089They're for emergency storage of vodka bottles
>>64500089Why don't missiles drop out the back of a fighter instead of out the sides? They can fall out of tubes, right themselves, lock on, fire.
>>64500089>>64500387>>64500402>There is a non-zero chance that we will get to see American jets BTFO Algerian Su-57's
