What are your thoughts on post front sight vs fiber optic front sight? I have a post painted neon orange for the front sight on my .22. a fiber optic is tempting but I feel like a red dot just does the fiber optic better. I have a QD red dot for my .22 so I feel like that just mogs any normal sights. I wouldn't put a fiber optic or painted front sight or night sight on my AR carbine because I can see the front sight though the red dot (I can't on my .22, the red dot is above the sights) and I feel like seeing a bright color along with the red dot would annoy the fuck out of me
I prefer the least amount of occlusion in my sight picture. I do not like double dots, christmas trees, or co witnessed irons.
>>64503375Hello, iron sight enjoyer here. All of these recommendations assume that your rifle is more accurate than you are.If you want speed, go for a red dot.If you want precision, accuracy and image quality, go for a scope. If you can't pick a lane, go for a LPVO.If you want to target shoot with irons, go for diopter and globe. If you want to LARPerate like you're on safari, go with an express sight. If you want to hunt with irons, go for a rear peep and the smallest fiber front bead you can get.Buckhorns should be rounded up and destroyed and people who make and/or sell them should be hanged.Peep + fiber bead > peep + post >> open + colored post = peep + bead > open + blued post > open fiber + fiber bead >>> open + bead Peeps are fantastic and the best option you can get for a front sight but a post sight is also a good pick. Fiber rear + fiber front is fast but not all that precise and is more popular on muzzleloaders and shotguns.
