They announced that they are going to make a new stargate show. Will they keep using the iconic, though now very outdated, P90 they used from season 4 on? Also how does the factory reflex sight work? Is it nonilluminated because Daniel closes his left eye when he's shooting with it.

>>64546777>>64546782oh and it's not even like the retarded shit with the harry potter fag who has ZERO writing credits. this fag has writing credits on 4 sg1 episodes in seasons 9 and 10 and 42 (if you include story edited by) writing credits on atlantis. I'm too lazy to count, but even if you don't include the story edited by he has well over 20 writing credits on atlantis, might be over 30
>>64546782Jaffa's definitely are going to be non-binary. Then there will be whole story arc of jaffa reproduction ceremonies or other gay shit.
>>64546791There were 0 (zero) gay/troon characters in SG1 and SGA, the only gay moment in both series was a goofy scene, where a woman took over the body of a guy and 'she' kissed another dude and it was a comic relief. SGU already had a dyke character in 2010, way before woke ever became mainstream and you can bet your ass they'd continued this gay shit if their show wouldn't have been canceled due to lack of interest. I'm glad the Stargate franchise died before it could have been infected by the Big Gay, so reviving it in 2025 is a retarded idea. They'd bring back the old cast, either to simply humiliate them in their 60s or to outright kill them off as a power move.

>>64546769>switch to MP7sThey can't have those.
>>64546894Girls making out aren't gay, just fantasy.
>>64547209This, but for 3 spin-offs and 5 tv movies.
Rather than being gay and /tv/ and dooming about it, why don't we brainstorm cool ideas here about it?I could really go for an alternate timeline Stargate, where for some reason the SGC gets activated in the 80s and we have a younger Captain O'Neill in his special forces days. Yeah, I could go for an SG1 in black watchcaps and carrying silenced uzis and old school CAR-15s. I don't know about bringing back the other characters, MAYBE Daniel Jackson but I think if you bring them all back it'd be too gimicky and have a shitty made for kids vibe to it.
>>64547669How about Stargate: SG-0, where it's set in the 50s at the height of UFO mania. The cast is a bunch of stereotypical men in black rocking all sorts of weird and exotic wartime surplus and early cold war prototypes. There could also be some red scare talk of soviet infiltrators or even a second Stargate in Russia they have to destroy

>>64547718>if the studios don't meddle with the script there's a chance it's going to be good since the writers and producers are the same ones from the original shows.Yeah, I dunno about that. People change as they age, and the original is 35 years on. The world changes too. Just hearing it has the same writers and whatnot doesn't fill me with confidence. George Lucas was the same guy who wrote the original star wars trilogy and then made the shitty prequels for example.
>>64547694I was also think it'd be sick to have the earth segments filmed with period correct cameras and equipment (or at least mimics it better than just using a BW filter on a 4k camera) and the Stargate segments be shot with modern gear, just to sell how alien it all is>>64547714Thanks for reminding me of that one, I guess so but less shit
>>64547685It's already established in the show that Earth originally had 2 Stargates: one in Egypt and in in Antarctica, it would be stupid to introduce a 3rd gate that magically turned up in Russia.>>64547718The problem is that Earth is already a quasi superpower in not one, but two galaxies, they have the strongest ships (not counting extinct races) and the most advanced tech in-universe, so what sort of enemy could they potentially face, that they couldn't 1-shot instantly? See, the charm of the series was that Earth/SGC started out as the underdog of the galaxy, they used the Stargate to crawl into uncharted planets, hoping that they can salvage some crumbs, so Earth can stand a chance against an alien invasion and through the years, they slowly, but surely built themselves up as capable players in the galactic scene. They were bitch slapped many-many time on the way, but eventually they defeated both the Goaulds and the Replicators, then the Ori and managed to halt the Wraith in the Pegasus galaxy and basically won the game. Introducing a new foe would be pointless, because they'd need to be extremely OP to pose a credible threat to Earth at their current technological and military level. The whole idea of SGU was to put a small group of humans at the opposite side of the known universe, where they had no access to Earth's OP tech and to see what they can come up with on their own and this story fucking flopped, because we already watched this story gradually unfolding through 10 seasons. What kind of realistic challenege could they possibly encounter? A rouge Earth faction? It was done already with NID and the Trust.
>>64546750I hate to break it to you, but they're almost certainly just going to go with (horrifically designed) ayy energy weapons for this. You will feel your own hands cramping in sympathy for the actors when you see the ergonomics for the sort of shit they'd come up with today.

>>64548065>Who should the bad guys be?Humans. Take a page from the Star Trek alt universe with the Terran Empire. Humans have collected so much alien tech that they have an overwhelming counter to every civilization &/or menace they encounter. Nobody has been able to stand against The Terrans for several decades, as the new series franchise opens. Some have failed heroically after legendary-tier conflict ... and are now unfortunately extinct.Humans have made enemies, but have somehow managed to become more brutal than some of the worst enemies they faced in the past. The stage is set for Humanity to face the music as a coalition of fragmented rebels attempt to free the galaxy from the bootheel of Terran enslavement. Can Humans become even more brutal and ruthless to ensure their survival ..?For something near-future (like, 3 decades or so), probably need some sort of alien cloning technology so that Humans could generate the superior/overwhelming numbers required to meatwave an entire galaxy as a stage toward meatwaving others. Perhaps some sort of Human-slaved Repilicator race that has been subverted with Human AI code so it can be a (semi)controlled weapon that nobody else can resist. Yet.

>>64562096>popular around the time that movie was being made.I still like it. ...but don't have it.
>>64562326>so it's not really a big deal. It's gay and retarded. No buy.
They should have SG-1 use this bad boy!
>>64548164>macgyver reboot>5 oh>walker>7 csiWhy can't they do anything original?
>>64564758More like H.C.A.R.
>>64546750G11 OR BUST
It will be pic related. Screencap this, faggots.
>>64565500That's it! I'm cloning that with an frt!
>>64564758I wonder how a Stargate series that heavily featured the Army instead of the Air Force would have gone.
>>64565484>Why can't they do anything original?Hollywood/TV definitely can but anything original is a risk, so if there isn't someone with some influence pushing it then why risk it compared to slapping a proven or nostalgic IP on some random formulaic slop that can be accurately quantised with focus groups and market research?
>>64565500>drumfagNot feelin' it, even though the digits are premium.
>>64565801I like the Outer Limits reboot. The stories were good, some were great and some few were eternal. They would bounce back from set heavy budgets to standard psychological thrilleres with a twist, long before M. Night Shamalama-ding-dong had a clue. Thier casting was superb and while some stories had an over-simplictic "morality tale'"nature, it was the training ground for the Stargate SG1 producers.
>>64565534Less liaison missions most likelyYou know nowadays the actual space force would handle SG-1
>>64565534>Stargate: Special ForcesIf they did that very hard-hitting it could be something.
>>64565534Should have used the marines. I want to see that shitshow.
>>64546970bad guy gun
>>64561888Then why are you talking like a no-nothing zoomer?
>>64570263>Should have used the marinesSeveral stargate teams were purely combat forces, the assault tasks usually went to 6-10 sized marine assault teams. Sometimes they sent a couple of these teams as back up or rescue forces.
>>64570132>SG Ranger teams wiping out Jaffa patrols with night vision and drones without ever being seenWould be kino. Also, countering Jaffa would actually be an appropriate use of the M7 since the justification for the switch to P90s was greater armor piercing capability..
>>64546750>iconic, though now very outdated, P90what meaningful advancements have been made in firearms technology since it's introduction in 1986?
>>64572741It's less about technology and more about the fact that the PDW concept has proven itself to be a doctrinal dead end outside of law enforcement.
>>64565534>>64570263They had stargate teams that were army or marines in canon. Like SG3 and SG5 were marines. Usually the marine teams were bigger and were combat teams instead of being diplomatic recon teams like SG1
>>64572741better optic and ARs that work with shorter barrels
>>64546750>Also how does the factory reflex sight work? Is it nonilluminated because Daniel closes his left eye when he's shooting with it.its just a really tiny shitty eyebox. you cant do modern red dot things with it.i hesitate to say eye relief cause its a red dot and red dots arent supposed to have that but for all intents and purposes you had to have your head in a specifc location to see the dot.if you ever have the chance to handle a original its extremely underwhelming and disappointing.
>>64572803>better optic and ARs that work with shorter barrels>a Carter SpecialSo no change.
>>64572945>if you ever have the chance to handle a original its extremely underwhelming and disappointing. The PS90 factory sight? Kinda sucky, but mine still groups at distance. Though, I'm not as great a shot as Sam. But, who is?
>>64572775>outside of law enforcementAnd exec protect. Which is what you want on a diplomatic team.
I was just watching the original Stargate and got confused about the US Air Force guys they send on the mission to the desert planet. Most of them have enlisted rank insignia on their uniforms, but they're all referred to as lieutenants.
>>64574581I haven't seen the film in a while. didn't they want it to take place in the chyanne mountain complex and that's why they chose the chairforce?
>>64546750>a new stargate showGeneral Samantha Carter can sit on my face!
>>64547669>80sFunny that. Both actors in picrel appeared together in one episode of the og MacGyver.
>>64571061why the fuck do you care so much faggot?
>>64546975OH YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
