Second choice would be a 2nd Gen Glock 17, my county's sheriff's department has one that hasn't been cleaned since 1995 and currently has over 170k rounds through it. If it is the only firearm I can ever own, I'd almost say a pistol with a chassis and stock would be the best. C96 and Luger are peak cool but too finnicky, Glock and pretty much anything modern goes. It needs to be comfortable enough to carry, but no reason to ever care about concealing. Those chassis for the CZ Shadow 2s with a Holosun and extended barrel and suppressor gets you close to pcc territory.

If I'm not having to improvise ammo, then the Beretta or a 1911. I love my 1911, and I've built another one from damn near the ground up so I know I can keep it running.
