It’s Black Friday and my old ears started disintegrating. What are the new ears of choice for /k/?

Walker passives, electronic ear pro has lower NRR than passive ear pro

A suppressor and stop shooting 2800fps+ varmint rounds and enjoy comfy subsonics instead.

I usually double up with soft underneath so I don’t think that would be an issue. Good to know if I had to use only one though

I like TOZO-10 "Classic" earbuds, but for shooting maybe get fancy with noise cancelling.

Wear extra muffs over them if you must.

Earbuds have some magic that allows you to make phone calls and talk even with WW3 going on in background. I guess they don't pick up voice noise but direct from your throat via flesh contact.

Anyone who doesn't take the Mark is going to get headshotted by a drone, small arms as a military force is a dead concept, just enjoy your toys while you're still alive anon.

I use Howard Leight Impact Sports when I really have to (hunting w/o silencer, shooting at range with others) but the directional hearing isn't the best. I'd say you can know where things are within about 90 degrees rather than my regular, I don't know, at worst ~30 (give or take). You can hear conversations probably around 30 yards away with them depending on conditions and "volume" (knob controls a little more than volume including sensitivity and some other things IME). Water resistant but not proof; don't forget them outside too often. If I were hunting anything other than deer from a stand, I'd prefer just shooting silenced if at all possible. At the range, doesn't really matter. Just a lot easier to pay attention to your surroundings and you have better directional hearing without them. With them on, some things are harder to hear while others are easier. Give and take rather than definite upsides and downsides.

3m peltor rangeguards or if you have a bit more dosh OTTO NoizeBarrier Range SA
>>
I stole a couple of peltor comtac VI when i was getting out of the army, they're pretty great. But obviously stupid expensive. Depends on how much and what you shoot really. You can get away with some pretty cheap ones if you're looking for active headphones which i would definitely recommend
>>
I use Howard Leight In-ear impact earpuds.
The quality of sound passthrough is kinda shit but they do the job hearing other people on the range.
I´m Industrial carpenter by trade so I got my employer to actually buy these for me but they are not terribly expensive. Definitely cheaper than anything from Brands like Peltor but more expensive than Walkers.
I wear them 8 hours a day in the shop and they are certainly conformable enough, IMO they at least beat wearing earmuffs all day.
