Are the tradeoffs (not 9mm) worth it over the slight size difference with the Hellcat (for the only purpose the bodyguard has - CCW daily)?

380 is fine for self defense in compact pistols, and even preferrable to 9mm.

.380 and 9mm are more similar than they are different

Shield X is fuckhueg and not part of the discussion imo. Bigger than Hellcat.

Prove it.

The bodyguard 2.0 is about the best feeling .380 I've shot in it's size and weight category. The p238 is a little better in terms of recoil, but the bg 2.0 is lighter than the 238 and better shooting than anything else similar.

The hellcat has crap recoil control compared to the p365 it was supposed to compete against. It's noticeably snappier to me. The hellcat is riding the line of too small to comfortably shoot on the far side. It's not that I can't shoot them, but I would rather shoot other things in my free time.

I'd be more apt to carry and practice with the bg compared to the hellcat.

It depends what you want.

I personally never thought I'd carry a 380 but I shot a bodyguard 2.0 at the range (range officer just got one I was the only one on the range and he told me I had to try it) impressed me so much I bought my own on the way home and it's my daily carry now.

I personally like it because it holds 10+1 or 12+1 and it just feels incredible to shoot. I could rapid fire body shots at 25 yards and I'm not even particularly a good shot which is crazy for such a small gun. It's also so lightweight it just feels like having another phone on yourself so you have no excuse to not carry it. Just today I was lazy and went to the store when I woke up still in my PJs and a hoodie. Shit's so light I could just clip it onto my pajama waistband without even tying the pjs in the front

It's up to you and what you want. I personally think it's worth the tradeoff. It's the same diameter as 9mm but less power. At realistic self defense ranges I prefer to ease of carrying the bodyguard 2.0 vs my 9mm. I still do carry my 9 sometimes for funsies but my daily is the 380 after I bought the bodyguard 2.0

Oh, OP here, I guess I am fucking retarded. I was looking at the size comparison site and maybe there are two different calibers of it or it got it wrong. Thanks anon.

The issue that I am trying to solve is that I never carry. I forced myself to for like a month and it never stuck because G19 sized "compacts" still print like hell, dig into everything, etc.

In that case I'd definitely suggest trying out a bodyguard 2.0. I had a similar issue in that I found myself not carrying because it was annoying. The bodyguard 2.0 is so slim and light that I can carry it all day without even thinking about it and the printing is almost nonexistent. The 12 round magazine obviously sticks out a bit more so depending on my clothes and what position I'm carrying sometimes I just carry with the 10 round mag instead which is almost invisible even in tight clothes.

I don't want to just seem like I'm shilling for them, I fucking love the gun if I could only have one of my guns it's the one I would keep, but there are issues. I don't know if they fixed these or not because I got mine around jan-feb. Back then there was an issue of some feed ramps would have a visible lip that caused feeding issues. It could be polished down to fix the issue, I personally looked to ensure the gun I bought didn't have it. However, even then my gun still had WILDLY off-center sights. I tried to fix them myself and they were so tight I actually broke my brass punch, my local gunshop fixed it for $20. After the fix shoots perfectly accurate but something to be aware of as a possibility you might have to get the sights drifted

if you want a 9 mm near-micro get (something like) the Shield x
if you want a .380 micro carry pistol, the Bodyguard 2.0 is king of that category since its introduction last year

>size as the Hellcat
they're very close and Hellcat has a couple more rounds in magazine
Shield X is thinner, and lighter
>>

If you held both you would know they are vastly different. My body guard disappears in my pocket, don't even know it's there.

>(v. Hellcat) Shield X is thinner, and lighter
Shield X is also thinner than the P365 XL<--they're each about same weight/dimension otherwise
