Is ammunition the main bottleneck for criminals in the EU/Australia over actual guns? You can fairly easy make your own or source something with enough time and money but getting reliable ammunition seems to be where most criminals get caught.

Can't the Blue Angles just smuggle some in?

Nope.
Straya has more pistol shooters now than it ever has.
History:
Up until WW2 there were no real limits on pistols but almost everything was 'requisitioned' for the war with receipts to give themback afterwards.
Of course after the war that was too hard / many were broken or lost/ etc etc so it never happened.
1950 Melbourne got the 1956 Olympics but there were going to be no local competitors, so they had to hurry and restart pistol clubs.
Pistols were always only for club members, so they werent affected by the 1996 rifle and shotgun buyback clusterfuck.
Now because its hard to get semiauto rifles, anybody who wants to shoot semis it's simpler to get pistols and shoot IPSC etc.
>so if crims want to get ammo its easy as long as you have a 9mm or .38spec or up to .45acp, either join a club or do deals with guys who have them
>all the cops here fell for the .40s&w meme, so while there are a lot of "lost" cop-gund its rarer to get .40 ammo, so they just buy 'spare' 9mm barrels the same way as they get the ammo
Now there also a lot of 'odd' 9mm rifles being imported so even guys with only rifle loicences can have an excuse to buy 9mm ammo

Nah in europe there's plenty of old yugoslavian shit in circulation. But that's mostly the gangs that have them so less randoms shootings like robberies etc. Plenty of grenades out there too but they're mainly being used as show of force between gangs.

>everything was 'requisitioned' for the war with receipts to give them back
Even WW1 souvenir MG08s that many RSLs (VFW for Yanks) were holding as trophies got requisitioned with return-chits.
They were used as training guns so Vickers could be sent to the front-line, rebarrelled in .303 or still in 7.92mm.
Some sub-branches still have their framed chits instead of the trophy because none were returned after the war.
Tfw the local RSLs had fully-functional MGs as wall-trophies during the 20s-30s, a time when they were also forming the 'New Guard' anti-communist militias like the Brit Mosley Fascists.

Fucks sake how much German shit did we steal during the Great War?

That was about the biggest, they also nicked a lot of artillery pieces but very few of them are in parks or anything anymore. Which is probably a good thing they're usually being restored. For a while there in the 50's there was some crazy amounts of milsurp tanks for some reason that got converted into bulldozers and draglines for clearing scrub.

organized crime can have guns smuggled in from south and north america. if you can smuggle a gun, you can smuggle ammo.
that being said guns will get you more money for the same volume as munition.
but you can always just get someone with license to buy some ammo for you, did I shoot 5 or 50 round at the range?
that being said, criminals in Europe generally don't bother with reloads. if you've had to fire the guns you'd better ditch it. usually they will outsource the trigger pulling to some low level shits, especially in the drug smuggling gangs.
if there's a bottleneck it's probably magazines especially after the EU's faggy magazine capacity shit, mind you there's plenty of mags grandfathered in and you can just pop over to an other country to buy them. But I've never seen a gun haul with more than two mags per gun and often there's guns without a fitting mag

On a national scale there were hundreds of artillery pieces brought back as official war trophies, plus all the personal souveniring.

Christ that's sad, just do like me OP and go get drunk in a small tavern. Once you've drunk enough everyone become your friend.

No. Criminal orgs/gangs have guns and ammo, but they are rarely used outside of gang wars. No reason to catch weapon charges when Europe/Australia are absolutely cucked regarding self defense and property laws.

In Australia the fucking cunts are bringing in actual children to be the trigger pullers.

The AWM 'acquired' the Amiens 280mm railway gun.

The carriage is gone now, but they still have the barrel on a stand outside.

A youtuber named "Suckboytony" produced plastic hulled compressed black powder ammunition that he designed a plastic pump action firearm around, which could fire 50 caliber projectiles at lethal velocity. If used electricity or some kind of simple heating element for ignition.

Neat, I didn't know of this. I know in the Soviet union tanks got turned into tractors and shit a lot

I'd forgotten that capture, they nicked the gun, the carriage, train, the ammo, vehicles and some of the other ancillary carriages as well
Sort of a crime the gun carriage was scrapped, at any period of time seeing a gun mounted on 180t of rolling metal would really be quite the sight to go see

Heavy machinery is super expensive, especially back then when people basically had one fifths of fuck all to their name, so picking up trucks, tanks and all that for cheap would have been a real windfall for a lot of folks hacking out a living. The M3 Lee and Matilda also seemed to end up here in some numbers, while neither wasn't much good for the European theater they ripped up the Japs pretty good in the Pacific when they could be deployed. The Australian Armour & Artillery Museum channel on youtube put out a few episodes with M3 restos from ex-farm owned vehicles which was pretty interesting

Usually thugs are rather low-IQ and not that resourceful.
