How reliable can an improvised firearm be if it was made by someone who knows what the fuck they're doing?

If you have youtube and some machine tools you can build pretty much anything, and have it quality.

That supressed PPS AK thing kicks ass and I want one.

During WW2, many brits made sten guns in their garage for the mil.

If you know the basics of machining, it's pretty easy. Plenty of youtube videos, guide books on amazon. Things like bolt action and open bolt blowback can be made with more ease than acquiring ammo in a nogunz situation.

And Poles made Sten clones in their basement

well depends mostly on the mags i think that the best option would be to use factory made glock mags or some other mags that you get your hands on
rest of the open blowback smg is pretty simple and hard to fuck up
the other problematic component would be rifling the barrel although i assume you could make a smoothbore if ita supposed to be close range only magdumps

Someone with the right equipment and skills could make a gun just as good if not better than the average commercial gun.

You can cut rifling without electricity. People have been doing it with manual tools for centuries.

Very. Open bolt blowback guns are extremely simple weapons to make, if you have existing magazines to work with (like that bottom one) you're already past the difficult part.

Rifling is not really that hard. ECM setups with a simple 3D printed jig makes it very easy to turn a good bit of seamless steel tube into a decent rifled barrel, but even without that modern luxury, there are other ways.

As Brandon Herra said, every semi auto gun is just a broken machine gun.

When I was feeling things out with my wife, I mentioned how easy it is to make guns, and said if you have a working toilet you have a gun.

4 winds work.
