In terrible news the cyclic rate on the urgi upper dropped considerably without the strela. Surprisingly so unless environmental conditions are just choking it today(?) but yeah dropping from 1050 RPM with strela to 840 RPM average without. Unless switching out the optics somehow affects cyclic rate which would be really, really funny.

Also the 69 gr TMK phantom defense nas3 averaged around 2550 whereas the 77gr mk262 nas3 from black arc and phantom's own 77gr Hornady otm Nas3 load average around 2500 fps so might not be worth it. Surprised tbqh

Yeah. The RIS2 is just cooler and the difference between carbine and mid length gas is minimal to non noticeable.
People will pull up testing from SOCOM but either intentionally or unknowingly leave out how that testing was done with high pressure military loads where as the average person is shooting whatever range stop they can get cheapest so some extra gas to help cycle the rifle would add to reliably rather than take away from it.
