What would you equip them with? How would you organize them? And other prep to get them to stand toe-to-toe with state militaries?
>>64573300mormons have a lot of guns and FFLs and stuff, probably whatever they're doing or have
>>64573300Xstianity and mooslime are cults. Measure "stronkest" accordingly.
>>64574172>proceeds to die in Hell
>>64573300While not a cult Christianity in medieval Europe would be the strongest you could get. The Pope managed to get the European kingdoms to stop fighting each other and pool their troops and resources together along with tens of thousands of followers to build a crusader army and invade another nation.
>>64573300Not in the US. As a functioning democracy, everyone laughs at larpers who think guns are necessary to fight for "freedum"Public Opinion solidly backs the Iranian Protest Movement, Russian Human Rights Anti-Putin Resistance Movements, Syrian White Helmets (before their pro-rights government was installed by the people), and other certified grassroots activism.Trying to do something similar in the US will result in everyone laughing as the feds get bored and send everyone involved to prison, because as a functioning democracy, communities understand the need for pro-social forms of political activism.
>>64574456>Christianity>Not a cult
What should I do I humiliated myself by crying and crying endlessly to a troll that win the debate. Now I am butthurt and created two threads about how butthurt I am.
>>64574456>>64574172Pretty much this, the only real difference between "religion" and "cult" is social acceptability, and that is subjective. Religions have incredible power. The thing is that they're often hard to separate from the "state". Depending on the time period the Pope had an incredible amount of political power. And even if the religion doesn't have direct political control, they are very often in bed with political forces. I.e. the Grace cult in Fiji right now, for example.
>>64573300I consider the CLDS a cult and they're about as powerful as you can get without drawing down the government on you. The problem is they're so big that they're playing power games on a national level and can no longer focus down individual threats to their power. Scientologists, though weaker, are more centralised and focused, so can bring their force to bear on individuals and have far more dogmatic/zealous members willing to devote their entire professional lives to things like successive frivolous lawsuits and targeted harassment campaigns. The LDS have the best chance in a straight fight if the federal government was weak enough and the politics complicated by disaster/political strife, but ultimately once you do that, you're crossing the rubicon and from that point on you're expending resources faster than you can acquire them, while the federal government just needs to kick into a higher gear to match you. To my mind, the Scientologists have a better chance by remaining a legal entity with many legitimate, discrete public-facing outlets. If they decide to go full American Taliban, they can do it from multiple removes, with huge reserves of cash and banks of political favours to draw from. Those zealots who punish the organisation's entities might not be down to make s-vests, but they can still sling mud and jam up the works when the government runs out of steam and need very malleable bureaucrats to get the job done. Meanwhile, Tom Cruise is funding brainwashing camps to turn homeless addicts into suicide bombers who target psychiatric hospitals.
>>64573300>Private MilitasWhat is he, Mexican?
>>64574460You have to be 18+ to post here. You clearly are too young to remember Waco and the paranoia around the militia movement at the time.
>>64573300>small cultArm and train everyone, make sure that using small arms is a rite of passage.Try to arm everyone equally, so everyone in the cult is equal.>decent size cultGive basic self defense training to everyone, but allow some members to form a militia still only armed with small arms.Try to make sure everyone gets the bear necessity in terms of equipment, but allow militia members to buy better kit for themselves, if they can afford it.>big cultForm a professionel armed branch of the cult with a hierarchy with ranks, heavier weapons and explosives. Extort money from the other cult members to fund the armed branch.
>>64574392So it's not really eternal damnation after all if you can die in Hell after going there?Checkmate, believer.
>>64574520>>64574537Socially accepted and prevalent religions work completely differently in how they are able to/do obtain military power, so I think it's worth the distinction for OP's question. The retention of membership through coercion and the forced alienation of members from outside society are key parts of the popular understanding of what a cult is and do have an impact on how/to what level they can build a paramilitary force. >>64574172>XstianityAww, look who's afraid to say His name?
>>64573300The cult in Japan that made their own ak74 factory and were working on obtaining jets and nuclear weapons. Supposedly did nuclear test in Australian desert. They ended up doing nerve gas attack in Japan metro.
>>64573300Strongest would be taking control of their banking and media. Then you can have control of the strongest military in the world.
>>64575512>Socially accepted and prevalent religions work completely differently in how they are able to/do obtain military power,Cults often resort to more extreme forms of coercion that aren't as common with socially accepted prevalent religions, but many of the behaviors that groups use to gain influence are universal. I.e. making an effort to help the poor to generate grassroots support. It worked for Catholics, it worked for Escobar.
>>64573955Mormons have infested federal law enforcement, they pretty much are a state actor
>>64573300Red Z rebellion is about as powerful as they will get in your lifetime. No one is going to risk it again for a few dozen years.
>>64576618
>>64576105>Supposedly did nuclear test in Australian desert. The Aum got some AKs from Russia because they had an odd cult post soviet following there, also they never did a nuclear test or even came close. They did make some chemical weapons and tested them in the land down under.
>>64575279Ok pidor. Waco was over 30 years agoIsn’t it funny how when regimes like Russia and China, who are actively slaughtering their own people and their neighbours, want to seethe about the US they have to 30+ years back in time, to find anecdotes.
>>64573300>What's the strongest a cult or another type of non-state actor could get?As strong as any nuclear power>What would you equip them with?Nukes. Reminder that fissile material isn't that hard to get with enough money and support. Israel fucking stole a bunch from some mining company when other nations stopped supplying them.
