>NEW YORK, Nov 27 (Reuters) - A U.S. military plane soared over Florida's Eglin Air Force Base earlier this month and released a drone made by the defense tech giant Anduril Industries to test whether it could take flight and conduct surveillance.>The drone – a winged model known as Altius – nosedived 8,000 feet into the ground, according to an Air Force test summary, reported here for the first time. Shortly afterwards, a second Altius drone spiraled to earth during a separate test, the summary said.>The company has ridden a surge of investment into military tech that has helped its valuation more than triple since late 2022 to $30.5 billion.>Anduril's 33-year-old founder Palmer Luckey said in March, opens new tab that Altius drones have "taken out hundreds of millions of dollars worth of Russian targets." In August, he traveled to Taiwan to deliver the company's first batch of the drones there. Taiwan's army told Reuters it had received 131 Anduril drones this year and declined to comment on the performance of the equipment.>But the previously undisclosed failure of the two Altius drones during the Air Force tests this month, as well as setbacks for Anduril's Ghost drone program - including in Ukraine - highlight a gap between the U.S. company's claims of battlefield readiness and the performance of some of its drones in testing and combat, according to interviews with more than a dozen people, including former Anduril staff, military officials, and people working with drones on the Ukrainian battlefield.>Western drone makers, including Anduril, have had limited impact so far on the battlefield in Ukraine. Mykhailo Fedorov, a deputy prime minister of Ukraine, said on Telegram in November 2024 that of one million drones deployed to the front lines that year, 96% were Ukrainian-made.Grifters have been finally exposed:https://www.reuters.com/business/aerospace-defense/us-defense-firm-anduril-faces-setbacks-drone-crashes-2025-11-27/
>>64574493That will be $300 million plus tip
so there where two crashes during tests and you're shitting your pants out of excitement?
>>64574579Anduril literally released a failure montage of their tail sitter to be transparent. Thirdies will huff on anything.
We're comparing R+D innovation that runs into dead ends versus solidified decades old tech at this point. The fpv drones could have been made in the 2000s in a high tech western country, they're settled tech that simply got cheap enough for low tech nations.
>>64574493>R/NCD redditoid still seething his rainbow Lockmart memes were mogged by Hawaiian-shirt Trumpers, Kegsbreath and the PT test gangAltius wasn't even invented by Anduril, dummy. They bought out Area-I. You can argue the ALE concept is handicapped by the design requirements (prop dia limited by the tube) but it's been a very successful program otherwise.
>>64574493>Armatard threadMODS Delete it.This is nothing but an attempt to undermine consensus and spread malinformation
>>64574579Please understand, when failure is displayed it's an obvious loss of face and means things have gotten so bad the entire project is doomed.>>64574574>That'll be over $15 billion plus tip
>>64574493>>Anduril's 33-year-old founder Palmer Luckeywot it's that oculus rift nigga?haha
>>64574655>SAMIR MY FRIEND WHAT ARE YOU DOING
How do I short these niggas? They public?
i'd love to see tolkien's face if someone were to inform him that the sword of isildur and symbol of the defiance and unification of men is used as namesake for a shady fundraiser company that makes flying robots that blow up children in sahel.
>>64574493turns out engineering and software engineering of consumer garbage are totally different disciplines
>>64574493So you're telling me... that the silicon valley tech bro venture capitalist startup... that promised to be so much better than the established players... was le scam????????
>>64574493I am going to use this opportunity to say that I hate LoTR fags
Public Service Announcement:Armatard and Zigniggers hate Anduril because they never stopped working with and supplying Ukraine with drones and technology. They have been basically field testing using zigoids as live targets for years now and it makes them go berserk with seethe.
>>64575545Youre a brown mongrel, Of course you dont understand and hate The Lord Of The Rings.
>>64575545I love LotR, but this whole naming scheme with Anduril and Palantir is cringe. Unless they're getting a hefty paycheck from these two, I'm genuinely shocked that the Tolkien estate hasn't sued them for copyright infringement.
>>64574975>fookin baste, oi tells ya-Tolkien
>>64575830It's the same demographic which was seething about Aerovironment, now I think about it.
>>64575830>Armatard and Zigniggers hate Anduril because they never stopped working with and supplying Ukraine with drones and technology. I would be a bit displeased with them if their tech actually worked. However, I know that it's a scheme to bilk money from military coffers while offering nothing of value, so I'm actually happy about how it's going.>They have been basically field testing using zigoids as live targets for years nowNot one Russian has been killed or injured by Anduril's tech lmao.
>>64576040the cope is real
>>64576040For example the difference between the altius and the lancet is that the lancet actually works
>>64576043Lancets have destroyed over 900 targets and damaged over 1800 more. Source: https://lostarmour.info/tags/lancetWhat has any of Anduril's shit done?
>>64576059>lostarmourthanks for confirming you're a zigger or a thirdie
>>64576040>>64576059>>64576044Funny how after this war kicked off, how hyper concerned zegroids got for the welfare of the American tax payer. Meanwhile, why are you on 4chan having a meltdown over Anduril if they are so bad? Curious. The zignigger killings will continue, and I will gladly pay more in taxes for another million dead russian rats.
>How do you do, fellow American taxpayers. Steve Johnson from Texass Oblast here.
>>64574493Probably hiring jeet coders.
>>64574493Good. Hopefully they go bankrupt with their parent organization.
>>64575855I read Thycidides, the Iliad, and the Irish myths growing up and got something much better. Oh yeah, and Shelby Foote too. Why bother with some retardation about dwarves or some other bullshit when history and folktales provide more than enough?>but adventure I went on real adventures myself
>>64576356EW at least is a good team. They write Haskell there. But the rest of the company is all golang pajeets lmao
>>64576383>Please, PLEASE be impressed with me!Kek. Embarrassing post.
>>64576401Interesting, the other gossip I heard was seething about the EW team.
>>64576383Yeah, I read all those too. Am I supposed to be impressed, this is junior high level reading.
Although Luckey is a giant retard with a half-baked company, the press are being funded to write these hit pieces by seething primes like Raytheon and Lockheed Martin. Test failures are fine as long as the possibility of them are built into a weapon program's development cycle. Risk aversion is how the DoW has operated for decades, and it's a silent killer of programs. Sometimes programs never even get to testing because of low probability of faults. It's an obsolete way of doing R&D.
