From a societal perspective, on some days I may even lean quite conservative and bar them from it until they're adults if it was up to me. But that would also include intersex people in my book.You can't just do a karyotype test and go off by that, ignoring everything else. The holy chromosomes may still misalign with their identity. Then what about variations? What about chimerism? What about those supposedly in utero feminised and masculinised brains?

I see an opposite problem with intersex care in that surgeries or HRT are prescribed in early life to try to bring a person towards the subjectively closest binary "normal" based on a possibly incomplete reading of their sex. No one can say whether that reading was correct except for the person themselves. Or, in the absence of medical intervention, if their gender identity matches what their body ended up becoming. And here I don't see much of a difference between gender dysphoria in a trans person and an intersex person. If an intersex person seeks transition, I don't see how you can justify gatekeeping their transition by examining a singular aspect of their sex, chromosomal or otherwise. In my mind, the best approach might be to treat intersex and trans people seeking transition the same. Why would you want to lump yourself in with people who you view as being nothing like you I think, well at least from my perspective, being different physically from others was a horrid and hurtful experience, one that unfortunately defined a large aspect of my life. I think that when people use terms like being “mentally intersex” as a reasoning for being trans it demeans what I experienced, that’s not to say I don’t empathize or suffer with having body dysphoria and dysmorphia. To look at myself and feel so alien to either sex, and I understand how trans people feel,I myself transitioned and I’ve experienced it personally, but there’s also this uncomfortable envy that permeates from just how my body is and it makes me feel disgusting like a pariah that I still don’t belong. So when others come in and start saying things like being “mentally intersex” it doesn’t feel like you’re building a bridge, it feels like you’re trying to colonize a minuscule group to add to a growing list of collected oppression points. Im not saying that it’s the actual intent but I think it’s not hard to jump to that conclusion and induce hostility, I think common ground can be something to understand without stepping on our toes, sorry I’m like a bit manic and I know I’m rambling I wish I could better articulate myself
