I haven't read almost any classics, least any basic philosophy. I have an eternally expanding pending list of nonfiction books that range from nuclear war theory to Hombrewing and woodworking. I will probably never read them.

And I'm considering reading The Forever War again.

Confession implies something regarding my personal relationship to literature, that I am ashamed of. I don't have anything available at the moment. Instead, I will describe a moment of pride.

About two months ago, I skimmed through a hard copy of Aquinas' Summa, just to see about the meme. Over the thirty minutes that I spent, getting the general frame, my confidence boosted immensely, that it really is no great work of philosophy after all. It really is just a sad old man and stupid sentimental people attached to a meme which is neither true nor good nor useful. Like Marx.

I am seriously considering buying this copy for personal use, the better to read and over-master the false ideas contained therein. Likewise I have a bunch of books on Marx, because I want to understand and defeat the stupid ideas that human beings have, and to cause them to cease to exist altogether. There is no god, and there is a thing called human nature. I should also like to pursue the recent historical trends to bring about the dissolution of the catholic church altogether, while at the same time bringing about the cessation of the practice of the muslim cult (there is no such thing as a religion, as that word is poisoned in the English language with unwarranted connotations of truth, beauty. There are only cults).

I read more manga than I do books
>>
>>11919808
How can you afford 300 books in a year?
>>
>>11920102
I buy them used. Usually 2-4€ for a hardcover rarely they cost 10€ and like once or twice a year I can't find them used (out of print or too new, so I ay the full price), 30 books a month makes under 150€ monthly and that beeing a NEET.
>>
>>11919920
Mostly because I sleep on my stomach and if I get a boner it easily transforms in a wet dream.
And I got veanus in furs too.
>>
>>11920135
what about the delivery costs?
>>
>>11920323
Included. You get a shitton of books on amazon for 1-2€ plus 3€ shipping (even from murica to germany). There is also betterworldbooks, ebay and abebooks. Most I own (and I buy the hardcover classics in great condition, so they're not shitlit) I bought under 1€. I also buy them on other german resell sites which make shipping even cheaper.

Seriously, if you pay the full price for new books instead of getting a good used copy you're doing /lit/ wrong. Especially as the market is so massive and only a few people buy the old stock, let alone want that specific book, so it often happens that one gets really great deals.
>>
>>11920323
But you obviously need to be patient. I have a list with some 2K books I want to buy and always buy the cheapest on my list monthly as the prices regulary change. You'll get a feeling for the market.
>>
>>11919957
I don't read manga or watch anime. Since this is a confession thread, I usually ignore most anime posters on this board and assume the more intelligent /lit/ posters are were initially transients from divers corners of the world, who found comfort in this small but unique community of intelligent people. There are few anime posters that have ever struck me as intelligent; I think most of them post here because they're bored.
>>
>>11919957
I used to read lots too, it will pass at some point, still read quite a lot but finding something good has gotten harder.
>>
>>11920135
>NEET
That doesn't pay anything.
>>
>>11920385
I have my reasons and I'm proud of destroying the welfare system through beeing able to get more kids and raise them better than most double income wageslaves. We're not in the 50s anymore, grandpa. The social contract has been sold for easy shekels long before we were born and the soi your ancestors were born on with it to people which hate you.

Varg and Ted were right all along.
>>
>>11920344
I'm definitely not one of the intelligent anime posters you've come across but I believe that there are a few manga with genuine literary merit.
Mostly it's just lowbrow entertainment though.
>>
>>11920425
Then you have your welfare which is an important detail you left out. The typical NEET has no income at all.
>>
>>11919108
... D. H.
>>
>>11920517
I don't actually need it. I could go out and work a cheap 400€ job if I would want and pay for everything. I could even just write a letter and get a really nice job. I just don't want to waste my life to pay for others replacing me.

And wrong again, NEET only means what one isn't, most western countries sadly have welfare so pretty much all NEETs have gibsmedats.

Desu, there is no need to be angry due to jelly towards someone which you can follow. Just like many other things "work hard" is just another social meme, which sadly is outdated. ven if you work hard, you will not get payed accordingly and even if, you are paying more than half of it to pay for your ethnic replacment.

I'm afraid to read, I'm afraid I read some manipulative propaganda that will make me useful idiot for someone smarter than me.

I'm not smart enough to tell when I'm reading smart stuff and when I'm not. I can hold up to two (maybe if I'm hyperperforming three) concepts simultaneously in my head and this signals I have very low IQ.

>I don't read manga or watch anime.
You dun goofed. I'm not that well read, but my favorite author is Nabokov, followed by Kawabata. I assure you there is "true art" to be found in chinese cartoons. I would start with Kaguya-hime no Monogatari (The Tale of Princess Kaguya), Millennium Actress, and Mushishi. Then try Kaiba and La Maison en Petits Cubes. From there, go wherever you want. Maybe Ping Pong and The House of Five Leaves. I definitely don't read enough manga to give proper recommendations, but Oyasumi PunPun really did something, though it's very niche.

Get into electrical engineering or computer science. Then you can help design sexbots. Otherwise, you're just fantasizing about something that is ridiculously improbable anyway.
>>
>>11921788
Give it a chance. La Maison en Petits Cubes is all of twelve minutes long and it's on youtube. The people who made it (other than Koji Kondo, who did the music for that and also for Ocarina of Time and a lot of other Zelda games) are people who regularly work in the animation industry. If that doesn't sell you on the value of grorious nipponese animated pornography in fifteen minutes, I don't know what will.

I've seen some of your recommendations (or at least bits of them), but I'll check the rest that I haven't seen

Yes, and you should go nofap. Your phantasies is what happend if you let your sexuality run freely. You need each times a harder new kick. Believe me, I've been there. The only cure is personal control and not going down that path. Imagine it's the devil on your soulder simply wanting you to fall, as a secular metaphor if you're not religious. That's why elites embrace pedophilia and snuff. it's the peak degeneracy and taboo which you can "enjoy". It's not about sexual gratification or pedophilia as such, but healthy humans having it all and ending up at a point where fucking children to death, like the Marc Dutroux case, is end of the path.

There is a reason why every religion and culture in existance preaches sexual contenance.

Good luck.

But now, I’m so addicted to that feeling I get in my scalp when I learn something new that is embedded with our nature, that it obsesses me.

Sad. I can imagine that it's hard to get cheap good books when only a minority is reading in your country. But do try the three above, if you make lists and check them monthly for the best deals you can save good money on the used marketplace there.

I forewent reading Don Quixote to play old SNES and Genesis games and Solatorobo on a Nintendo DS Lite

I wanted to love War and Peace, and began reading it expecting that I would, but I couldn't get further than 180 pages.
I also have 3 other books that I have stated and haven't finished, each in succession of each other.

While I really enjoyed the story, I found myself infatuated more with the writing itself over the plot. From what I remember, it’s a slow burn and proves most fulfilling when approached as such. There’s so much you didn’t get to, I’d highly recommend giving it another shot, easily one of my favorite reads.

No its really not at all. Also, I have no idea why its irrational to be mad at stupid people who indoctrinate each other and do it tax free while causing trouble for others legally and politically.

>the problem is you
>hate is always bad
Nope, the problem is them for being mentally ill and lying to each other.
>other people put up with them just fine
there are millions, tens of millions of people, including the whole of China, who do not put up with them.

>people think and teach their kids thinks I don't like, but which build the western world
>but muh legalities and politics
You should be more concerned with jews and their double loyalties, sending your kids off to die for Israel and stealing your tax dollars whie actually having had infiltrated the catholic church in the 60s. Your hate has been engineered to fall on the enemies of those which actually hate and destroy your country.
