Can anyone recommend a book about how America came to be dominated by the automobile industry? Or anti-car books in general. I'm sick of having to look over my shoulder nervously whenever I walk around the city because some retard in one of these stupid, giant trucks is flying down the road looking at his phone. Also notice how high from the ground they are which maximizes their lethality to pedestrians. Why? What drives people to buy what are effectively manslaughter machines? Books on the psychology of this would also be appreciated.
