What's your favorite alternate history book, whether it's because of the setting or the story that takes place during it?
>>25296375Probably that one, to be honest. I first picked it up when I was a bit too young for it and didn't quite 'get it' or even some foundational concepts like the karmic jhati. But I kept coming back to it and while I don't care overmuch for the story, such as it is, small scenes still stay with me. Sweeping the mosque while he waits to die, or hidden in trenches because of 'muslim supershells' or even being so grateful for finding olive oil he stays days to drink it down.Fine book.
