What's up with this weird modern aestheticisation (a new word I made up to mean something becoming an aesthetic rather than the substance) of so-called banned books? Every time I see a "banned" book it's something insanely popular you can literally just order online or at a bookstore. Truly, TRULY banned books would be like chemical warfare guides or uranium tutorials or something.

mostly has to do with how public and school libraries are funded/operated in the US imo. the federal govt hasn't banned literature since the 1930s, but every now and then some county library board or school system board will get all fired up and remove books from the shelves. imo mostly symbolic these days but doesn't bode well and I'm averse to book bans generally speaking
>chemical warfare guides or uranium tutorials
you can find these online

They've done this since the 90s when I was a kid.
It's just so liberals can keep up the fantasy of them being some sort of brave rebels.
And obviously the most banned thing is wrongthink: racism, sexism, etc. Those books don't even get written because the censorship starts farther up the line, and the few that do get written don't get published, don't get distributed, etc.

>>

so you're saying they're not banned books and were never banned books, yet you think it's fine to call them banned books? ok, retard.

Lefties need to feel like they are the underdogs even when they have overtaken practically all western institutions since the 1970s. It's like women who get fucked by a new dude every second day but would be offended beyond words if someone called them a slut because in their minds they deflected all agency to the men they had sex with, like it all just happened to them. Practice is one thing, self-image is another.

Listen chud we support free speech and read banned books
