It's okay I suppose. I'm not really digging the shows style in general so I don't know how much of disinterest is that or the design itself. It's basically just Z but slightly different . The most stand out part is the scrander pack.

Like in the webm I posted they could have easily framed the shot differently. They didn't need to put an angle down overhead of them walking cgi bikes on a terrible background. They could have framed it from the front at shoulder level. They could have done from either side of them and cut back and forth depending who's talking with shot reverse shot. I didn't even think the show was all that bad. Somewhat enjoyable even. But fuck me alive does that one scene really just stand out as unnecessarily bad.

Even now it usually takes me a second or two to clock if I'm looking at Mazinger Z or Great Mazinger, especially if Great Mazinger doesn't have its sword out. I actually need to remember the fact Great Mazinger has no separation in its red chest crest.

And then the wings and the Pilder protruding out of Mazinger's forehead make him look kind of demonic, but that doesn't tie into anything thematically in Grendizer so it's there because Nagai also made Devilman I guess? Although it helps it assumes you already know Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger and basically skips any kind of introduction, with the first scene already being the crew facing Hell's army in a big battle.The Mazinkaiser vs Great General of Darkness movie is where you have Kaiser-wank in animated form though. Tons of deaths of characters just introduced for that movie and the Kaiser when it finally appears is completely untouchable and doesn't struggle at all.The anon's complaint about SRW30 is baseless though since Kaiser is just an unit you get in a bonus stage after you're done with Infinity's story, it doesn't take over the main plot or anything. In fact, Mazinger Z keeps its unique ability to charge up the Photon power from multiple dimensions like in the movie's climax, so its final attack is actually stronger than anything Kaiser has.

I get what anon means, the movie isn't really my favourite.SRW30 has some closure/dialogue with Tetsuya and Koji about Kenzo's death, tl;dr Tetsuya felt guilty but Koji's just happy that Tetsuya's going to be a father, no hard feelings whatsoever.Shin Mazinger is pretty fun, albeit a lot of non-Mazinger Nagai characters get a bit of spotlight. First episode's a preview of the last battle/last ep reuses a lot of scenes, Shin is going to be enjoyable if you're fine with a remake of specifically the Z story, with Shin Great never ever ever happening.Also, Kaiser or Shin might be your intro to the Gamia triplets, Z had similar characters but did not go for the Gamias from the manga.

The beginning can feel pretty easy and samey, but the battles get much more intense after chapter 10 (it's also by this point you can choose the difficulty level even for the first playthrough of a level, so you can regulate the game's difficulty according to your choice). Boss battles are also pretty varied starting from that point.Just don't expect the robot customization to be much to speak of though, it's more like making sets of Monster Hunter gear than something like Gundam Breaker.
