Good job on the kit and I'm glad you enjoy it. But I'll never understand the appeal of transforming mecha that don't actually resemble something. Like zz/z/picrel. "hey looks it's a robot that transforms into, whatever this thing is, that basically looks like the robot anyway". It's like they're just trying to "value add", and making the robot worse. Built my first gunpla in about 15 years. Felt grandpa would be a good kit to return with. Got it on a whim while at the hobby shop for my other autisms along with some of the GQ kits im saving for when my skill is better.My nubs aren't the best, went a bit overzealous with the zippers and knife. I bought panel liner too, just got the bottle and a brush the hobby store employee recommended. Scared to ruin it, even if its already sub par.

>>23849312Did you get Tamiya panel accent? It's meant to be applied a little messy then cleaned up after. You can try some lighter fluid on a cotton swab and wipe it off. Also be careful using it on a fully built but unpainted kit. It can get between the parts where it can't dry properly, and damage the plastic. Safer to apply it before assembly.
Never working on gunpla in jeans again, they're covered in crunchy bits now.

It feels very annoying when you see kits that are supposed to be based on Izubuchi, Fujioka, Kazumi Fujita's artstyle, yet they have a bunch of juvenile takes like a bunch of new panel lines, blocky parts that are supposed to be round, capeshit superhero body proportion when the robot is supposed to be fat and stubby. It would stop being fun to you when someone take Kondo's designs, shit all over it with panel lines and sand the round bodyshape into sharp, blocky shape.

AK "ultra matt" will kill nearly all reflections with even thin layer, Vallejo "matt" will look rather glossy, Vallejo Mecha Color matt will be somewhere between. New to painting, how do people tend to handle armor with a seam line that can’t be reasonably turned into a convincing panel line, and the armor has to attach onto the inner frame? The older Motor Nuclear kits are very hard to paint compared to the newer ones (kits starting from XH12-XH15) since the newer ones have ZERO prepainted parts and everything is color separated hence the bazillion runners.
