Also you don't have to be a specific type of artist or skill level in this thread, it's just a good time overall when anons post their stuff here (usually lol). For some quick crit is that their ear behind the hair could be obscured a bit more as I imagen the pose wouldn't show it as much as it does currently. The legs seem a bit small to my eye compared to the body, you could try and make the base of the legs around the hoof a bit larger. That's atleast what I've observed as of now. I think a good path forward could be experimenting with how you want to draw ponies, do you want to be closer to the show style or add more of your own spin on it? Also studying real horse anatomy will make it easier for you to stylize it. Good start keep it going.

>>41476227alright I'm gonna try breaking down what wrong with your legs here. you seem to be breaking down into a more human like like leg structure with the femur being connected directly to the knee like a human with the hoof essentially behaving much like the human ankle. pony legs don't really work like that, I included a comparison of the skeletal structure of a human vs a horse to help illustrate what I am talking about. full res version here https://files.catbox.moe/8fymjo.jpg, I labeled the bones and joints with both horse and human equivalents on the red line to help break down how the structures works by directly comparing the two. the other one is a break down of what it seems like how your imagining the leg structure. with ponies when it comes to the cannon bone you can bend it a little bit to get a more cartoony show like silhouette, the hock being more like the human heel has a pretty limited range of motion and would not be able to move to and extreme rear ward angle. the pic of the horse and human skeletal anatomy actually shows the max range of motion of the hock nicely, if you cut and and paste the leg closest to the viewer at the stifle and layer it over the one behind it on the rear legs stifle then change the opacity you'll see it better. the largest range of motion on a ponies legs comes from the stifle as that joint is more comparable to the human knee. I'd highly recommend studying horse anatomy for you to help better understand the leg structure, or at the least studying show screens closely and breaking the legs down like I did in the redline. hope this helps.

can someone give me advice? i feel like i suck at drawing ponies but im not really sure how to fix it
>>41493516you aren't that bad at all, that full body pose of that oc has really good energy and weight compare that with my stiffer than a cock attempt at the bottom. also has some good depth to it too. mines a rough draw cause its more a demo on the torso/barrel shape and length more than anything. what you seem to need to work on is studying body shape and proportions a bit more, I broke it down to make it more visual. what you seemed to have done is made both the circles you used on her body about the same size as her head which made her barrel really long and cylindrical/ovular. what you should aim for is a bean shape. her foreleg closest to the viewer also could be more bent as the hoof has a joint connected to the bone in the foreleg. the rear legs are a bit short and thin. for the one on the left her foreleg facing the viewer just needs to be a bit longer to match the other one. the break down with the head, butt, and chest circle is just what I typically aim for and is more a general rule of thumb. A lot of it also depends on what your going for stylistically if you are aiming for, a safe bet is show style as you can study show screen shots by breaking down the shapes, proportions, and where the joints are and use that as a base of knowledge. not sure if this will help at all but hey I tried. you draw solid faces so there's nothing there to explain.TL:DR study body shape and proportions moar

You didn't do this with the back of the ear, and you see how that curve looks so clean and nice compared to e.g. the top curve of the tail? For this style with broad heavy lines, clean single stroke curves are a must; even if your dexterity isn't there yet, you can clean up the edges of the lines with single strokes from an eraser for a similar bump in quality. Keep practicing and you will get so much better, good work anon.
