Some might say it's because now there are more maps available that are much better or that weapon unlocks have changed the gameplay significantly enough that negatively affected gravelpit matches.

Is it bad to admit that one of the reasons I consistently returned on the server was because a gameme rank existed. I still genuinely believe that a lot of people did care about their meaningless rank to the point of hoping on the server every night just to keep it and once it was removed less people started hopping on (player numbers also show this). I'm aware that the "muh tryhards" philosophy (despite only less than 2 percent of the server being anywhere near above average to compfag level) exists but I would still like to see it return in some way
