There is one that some anon made but it doesn't really convince me. Timetravels seem very inconsistent on describing what things happened or got rewinded out of the continuity. So I'm just going to break this into relevant chunks while also trying to explain why it happens to begin with.Most important thing is to understand where the divergence starts. Even if you don't agree there're two timelines you can recognize that the yuri episodes (Twixie, Flawless, Mary- centric episodes), don't mix up with the yaoi gay ones (Soarin, Apple Bottom, Clean Sweep, etc). And there hasn't been any explanation for this other than Tamers saying "There isn't two timelines it just takes too much time to draw that many characters at once" Which one can chose to believe or not. I choose to doubt so I'll explain my case. There have been plenty chances both casts could have interacted or even casually being mentioned during certain episodes. Even the episodes where there's more of a focus on the comedy try their best to not fall into any plot relevant topics. The problem is not that there's no chance the characters couldn't have talked about others (Specially suspicious on Twilight, since she sits in the middle of both sides as a relevant character), the way it's handled it seems suspiciously careful so they don't mix up. First season (From the crossover pilot with SU to Braeburn and Soarin movie) would start this trend of separating both sides since Fluttershy's Hot Pot Party. Where Twilight rejects Trixie on the spot and they don't discuss it further until DoTS where it's confirmed Twiligth did hold strong feelings towards Trixie from the start. What made her change her mind? Writing convenience? You could use the same excuse Twilight gave on the Hot Pot episode but that doesn't change the fact that there's a crucial difference from now on from both "timelines". My take on all this... Is not that there's "2 timelines" exactly. I believe there's a "Mirror World" that has been created where parallel characters get to exist that have certain similar qualities but aren't exactly the same. Some even have opossite characteristics and traits. One side where Twixie is canon and Trixie becomes a reality altering goddess. And the other where Soarin becomes the alicorn of time and space. That being said, that also doesn't mean both sides can't have exact similarities. Like in a mirror you can still see yourself but certain things get twisted. You're basically seing yourself swapped.

Or if a character has an exact degree of equivalence to their parallel contrapart but what's most important is to not loose the big picture. Everyone knows certain inconcistencies are to be expected with Tamers. The odd thing would be when he is actually consistent for certain details. Oddly consistent. Carefully separating the casts either for a more meta reason where people would rather watch one or the other exclusively so he just makes a separation for that. Or... He actually has something in mind to be putting up with this for so long with how many times people have asked him the same question "Are there two timelines?". If I get my mind a litlte loose I imagine a big reveal where Tamers himself appears on the series explaining on a more meta way why he separated both timelines. Even create a whole arc about why one should exist more than the other. But I digress. Whatever explanation one could give about why there's a mirrored world, how we could organize the timeline or the character parallelisms would be a little pointless since it could be easily be explained by a future episode whoever Tamers chooses to wrap it up (If he ever does). But... Im fucking autistic so I'll do it anyways.First to start with the most relevant figures for both sides. Trixie and Soarin. They both have started as beings trying to live by their own without being judged. One, a successful Wonderbolt, and the other, barely surviving as a street performer. Trixie had the opportunity to become powerful by willingly allowing herself to be bound to Princess Luna with a powerful spell, while Soarin didn't choose to have his life altered by Twilight's powerful mind-control spell. Both would change reality or alter time to be with the object of their love. And of course they have altered forms that make em look badass.

He's the complete opposite of Flawless in that sense, who was able to manipulate the fates of other characters to achieve her goals (before DoTL) On a more meta perspective they're both part of the same experiment of "fusion" characters. One more popular than the other for obvious reasons. It remains to be seen if Dark Flawless is also a possible parallel to Friendship.Mary Lulamoon is an extremist feminist with a tragic past with her family that has led her to believe all stallions are evil monsters. After DoTL her face was burned and she must cover it with a cat mask, the same one she possibly used before to conceal her murders. Clean Sweep, a victim of rape by his father, has suffered abuse at the hands of various authority figures, both in his family and at work. This has led him to hate the world completely and if given the power and the opportunity, he wouldn't hesitate to destroy it (as seen in Outbreak). Both characters feel a deep disdain and hatred for the system that oppresses them and maintain a manipulative relationship with their respective abusers (Glimmer and Professor Kirin). Both suffer physical deformities that give them a cat-like appearance. Mary hides hers with a cat mask, and Clean Sweep "insert why Clean Sweep has a cat body" reason (PLEASE TAMERS). Fun thing: Mary is affraid of fire and Clean Sweep is a pyromaniac. White and Black faces, huh.
