Replacing a male vocalist with a female vocalist is stupid. It so radically changes the dynamic of the music that it can only be described as skin-suiting a dead band. I can only think of one case where a female vocalist joined a band and it didn’t make a difference and it was with the Black Metal band Bethlehem, and that’s because the vocals are completely unhinged and the female vocalist is a deep-voiced German biermaiden who sounds male.Getting a new vocalist is often a necessity, but Linkin Park did this solely as a publicity stunt to revive commercial interest in a dead band.
