The longest pieces I like are probably like 30 Minutes max I freely admit with a lot being less. I really like Tract by Richard Barrett too. I know I shit talk about attention span but I like how instant and pummeling this is. It's very stark and engaging. Very human. I may fucking hate Dreamthester but if the guy did anything else this good I would love to see it. That's something I would listen to. Especially if he has more songs that are this jagged and stark. It makes me feel as cliche and haky as that might be. It's very expressive and human.

I've been listening to this specific track by Claude Vivier for idrk how long desu. A while. Probably 3 years at most 11 months at least. I'm not really sure. This might be one of my favorite songs of all time though. I can never fucking remember what it's called but it touches something I think universal within the human soul. I'm probably just being pretentious and I have hears a couple other pieces but this is the one that always stuck with me. I will freely admit I found it on Wikipedia but I do not give a fuck about that. I use the tools at my disposal.

Also I would say the same thing about Dreamthester as a fan of Progressive Rock. Even the punks like fucking CAN and Hipsters will insist that thru aren't prog entirely souley because it makes them feel bad to admit how much they fucking love it. Same with Magma. Those are universally beloved acts that even people who hate prog and mock prog will admit are good because they had personality and soul. I think you're missing the emotive essence of music within all the technicality. That's probably why you hate The Velvet Underground too. It's not about how you do it but the emotions you convey.

Dreamtheater is literally meant for retards. You liking it is a sign that you lack taste and have no concept of things like presentation or pacing. It's random to you because you can't hear the structure within it but although I might not know a lot of music theory and couldn't explain it well these guys did and wrote a LOT on what they were doing and personally even if I may not be able to explain said theory I like it. I think it creates incredible atmosphere and I love what they were going for with stuff like this. That's what I like about Claude Vivier aswell.
