Huge fan, but the Madchester scene was so short lived that there just really isn't much worthwhile material out there. The two flagship bands of the genre don't sound much like each other, or much like the B-listers (Inspiral Carpets, Charlatans, Northside, etc) who make up the body of the genre. Was it too limited? Poorly defined? Why did Britpop overrun it so fast?
