Every riff and performance, to me, is like that of a complete maniac barely holding on while trying to get out its last gasps of life. Not much like it, except maybe Arkha Sva (who I also adore for similar reasons, and Gloria Satanae is the only black metal album from the 00s that I think is better than the Gorgoroth one).

If you like that Grond album you'd probably enjoy a few more of that German style. I like Wolfsschrei - Feasting My Hatred, Irrlycht - Schatten des Gewitters, Wolfthron/Isegrim - Isegrim and especially Gjaldur - Nachtreich. Most of those go in a more nature/pagan direction, but they're the first things that come to mind.

If you find you can't get enough of it, be sure to check out the other Roman Saenko side projects: Blood of Kingu, Precambrian, Windswept. The first two are basically Hate Forest clones but with different themes. Windswept is something like halfway between HF and Drudkh, basically a more simple riffy Drudkh sound. There was a new Windswept EP last year with Meilenwald from The Ruins of Beverast and Wintherr from PdH on vocals. Not as good as HF but worth a listen.
