>identifies as volcel>loves anime>berghain is the most uniquely european hit in the last decade >only pop star with SOVL>doesn't follow trends, she sets the trend>only collaborates with high quality artists
>>130398125MotoMami
didnt she make generic reggaeton before LUX?
>>130398125yes, Motomami is a masterpiece and the best album of the 2020s
>>130398125No, she's a complete hack that tried to imitate Sílvia Pérez Cruz style and failed. Then, thanks to C. Tangana, she got huge promotion for her later uninspired works.>>130398228Motomami, despite being probably her best effort just because isn't pretentious at all unlike her other albums, it's far from being a masterpiece or even the best Spanish album of this decade so far:https://youtu.be/c4mLUqcVxcE?is=OeNO6eoQFpp3yTiv
Funny how this used to be a real music discussion board and now it's all barely-concealed gorilla marketing
>identifies as volcelyou faggots are retarded
>>130398175i hated reggaeton but hers are fun and creative desu
>>130398782why do you hate her?
>>130399932Because she's rym/normie/pleb core, thus creating a fake understanding of what our national scene can really reach. I already explained why I don't like her music in the post you're replying to, but basically it sounds either too amateurish and cheap or way too overproduced and artificial, depending on the album. If you want to start listening to Spanish music, avoid "artists" such as Rosalía, Extremoduro, Nacho Vegas, Ramper, Dano, Pedro LaDroga or Depresión Sonora, and listen instead to any of the records shown in pic rel.
>>130398948guerilla anon, or were you trying to say latins are subhuman?
>>130400100BasedddPD:Ñ.jpg lol
>>130400116it's a meme you dip
>>130400100There's too many albums in pic related. Please narrow it down to 3 or 4 and I'll give them a listen.
>>130398948yeah dude this dead ass place is on the marketing radar of one of the biggest pop stars in the world now
>>130398125I love Rosalia's voice but I've always hated her public image. She hangs out with Kylie Jenner and has appeared in advertisements for too many designer brands. The content she posts on Instagram is always attention-seeking and vapid. She comes off as a clout chaser and money worshipper, which makes it difficult to take her seriously as an artist.
>>130401245Really hard to select just four of them without knowing about your tastes, but I'd say:>Veneno - Veneno (1977)>Esplendor Geométrico - Mekano-Turbo (1988)>Iury Lech - Música Para El Fin De Los Cantos (1990)>Sr. Chinarro - La Primera Ópera Envasada Al Vacío (2001)They're not the four best or anything (although I do consider Veneno's self titled to be the best album to ever come out of our country) but they're all great and variated in both genre and sound, so I hope you enjoy at least one of them!
>>130398125take away the anime, and she'd be more based
>>130398125I like her debut>>130400100Zzz
>>130398125debased>>130401346ew
>>130402430>ewYou haven't heard of any of these records in your whole life, you're just afraid of the unknown.
>>130398125Rosalie :)
>>130398782Dawg that album you posted is ass. It sounds like HEALTH if they recorded during the New York Noise era. I feel like you don't understand what's special about Rosalia. I'm listening to SIlvia Perez Cruz now, but so far not sure what I'm missing.
>>130401346>4 niche genre albumsis this a joke?
>>130401346Dude this is like saying "Kanye West is a complete hack and doesn't represent our national scene!" and then when people are like "okay what's better?" You're like,>Brian Eno, "Music for Airports" (1978)
>>130400100can you recommend catalan pop artists?
>>130402725Bad comparison as Brian Eno produced mega pop albums. It would be more like sayingWolf Eyes, "Burned Mind" 2004
>>130398125no she is shit and i'm tired of hearing her garbage>does all this shit which isn't muchi don't fucking care
>>130402674The most niche out of those would be Esplendor Geométrico, and they're one of the most well known Spanish bands on here. I don't know if you consider ambient and emo to be niche as well, but the other one is pretty much flamenco rock, so I'm not sure what you expected by asking about my country's music scene.>>130402725I said at first that Sílvia Pérez Cruz just made this kind of fusion earlier and much better than Rosalía. Now, the post you're replying to is one where I'm trying to give records out of my chart to an anon that wants to get into Spanish music.>>130402745Not exactly pop, but this album is absolute fire and much less punk than their debut:https://youtu.be/jNdWjCvr4to?is=j9RDiA4ocKLMzvjNI'd also suggest listening to Beef's discography, start with this record:https://youtu.be/kptd-NsSv6c?is=nn1ELHDOCHEozIaR
She’s the European lady Gaga, starts off making whatever is popular at the time the starts going weirder
>>130400100is santana good?
>>130398125she's alright for a normie pop star. it's cool that she took a risky and unfashionable direction against the mainstream.
>>130402745>catalan pop artists>>130403346>esplendor debasado
>>130403938>it's cool that she took a risky and unfashionable direction against the mainstream.literally how?
>>130398125No, she's just as shit as any other current pop whore.
>>130400100where the fuck is Omega
>>130406126See, it's a good album and unique on its own way, but once you listen to more Spanish music (specially flamenco and national rock) it loses a lot of its appeal. Omega happens to be just an anecdote in both artists' discographies, and a pretty cool one for what it is, but it's not the masterpiece many claim it to be.
>>130398175No, but she was featured on some Reggaeton tracks. Most of her shit is experimental.
>>130398782That album is just generic early industrial sung in Spanish.MotoMami is fucking peak and you are just a faggot.
>>130408393omega is much much better than all the indie shit on your chart
>>130401337Yeah because financial success and being visible in the mainstream as an artist is just so fucking cringe. Fuck off.
>>130408451Yes, even I agree that it might be better than some of the albums in the chart, but since I didn't want to repeat any artists or bands and there's already a Morente record and a Lagartija Nick album (which I prefer them both to Omega), I just couldn't add it. For your concern, I used to place Omega in my top three when I started listening to my homeland's music and it stayed there for a while, but again, I believe once you listen to more flamenco and Spanish rock you'll see it wasn't as revolutionary or special as most people argue.
Remember when her and playboy carti tried to pr relationship themselves and were never seen together again after their first public outing.
>>130408535Man, during el mal querer years I remember how hard her pr team was working. She was everywhere
>>130408393>>130408512what else should I listen to if I really liked Omega? other Morente and Lagartija Nick albums?
>>130403980she is quite experimental for mainstream pop and includes more traditional european genres in her music
>>130409600For other flamenco rock albums:>Sabicas - Encuentro Con El Rock (1970)>Pata Negra - Blues De La Frontera (1987)>Sílvia Pérez Cruz - Granada (2014)For similar albums of each artist:>Enrique Morente - Sacromonte (1982)>Lagartija Nick - Su (1995)
>>130409668thank you
