Are black people losing interest in rap lately?
>>130407422I had a convo with a normie black guy a couple weeks ago and he said rap has been dead for a decade now
rap his hit the wall on a creative level, all rap has left is maybe drake being able to gain his aura back after the beef so he can top the charts again, but then again drake is almost 40its trying to enter its jazz fusion age, but rock and rap have already been combined a bunch of times, so its not really a groundbreaking thing, and also rap historically already stole from other genres, "sampling"i feel like blacks made a mistake by putting all thier eggs in the hip hop basket, once hip hop dies that means blacks will become culturally irrelevant because its not like you see them in other genres, well you do, but its pure tokenism or as jokes
a lil bitit still the only relevant music within the black community thosoon they will create something else, either that or infiltrate further more within the pop scene, just with more negroid characteristics to appeal to them
>>130407422Hard to retain the counterculture image if it's just mainstream and corpo like everything else.
The biggest rapper is a former child actor. DMX was right about everything.
