Congrats to Captain Glenn Miller (USA). He was originally rejected due to his eyesight (draft classification 3-A), but convinced them to sign him up to lead the US Army Air Forces Orchestra, at the age of 38.

He'll be fine.

>The #1 selling disc of the year was Ella Mae Morse/Freddy Slack Orchestra's "Cow Cow Boogie", a Western-flavored novelty tune. It was the second record ever put out by the nascent Capitol Records and helped put the new outfit on the map. Helping its success was the recording ban preventing others from making covers and siphoning off sales of the disc ("Cow Cow Boogie" was eventually covered two years later by Ella Fitzgerald and the Ink Spots).

Not a master transfer, sounds like a rip from a 78 disc. Maybe they didn't have a master since a lot of them didn't survive the war.
