I've already listened to Sabbath/Soundgarden (Paranoid, MoR, Superunknown, and BMF), Candlemass (EDM), Electric Wizard (Dopethrone), and Trouble (Psalm 9). I have Hangmans Chair, WMD, Wizard Mammoth, Sergeant Thunderhoof, and Brain-Oil on my list after someone suggested them, and Saint Vitus on my own research. I've seen bands like General Witchfinder, Pagan Altar and Pentagram online, but I'm not interested on adding them to my "to get to" list right now. Other than that, send suggestions my way. I'll happily take them.
listen to death-doom instead

>>130414128with bands you'd recommend such as?
>>130414159I've listened Dopesmoker (I consider it more Stoner adjacent than Doom even if it's a Doom subgenre, then again I have Dopethrone here so I'm a hypocrite), but the rest of these look great!
>>130414137Come My Fanatics may be a future listen, it's just that I usually listen to one album per band/artist so I get to everyone I'd like to listen to. Rest of these look cool, and I'll be excited once I pick from them in a months time (they're at the back of 200 others, but I don't pick in order)
>>130414010>SoundgardenIs it doom?
>>130414282>>130414213I'd def rec We Live over come my fanatics then. It's pure doom, way less stoner than dopethrone even tho theres still a song about an evil flower. The long psych jam is my favorite part. Also the drumming is so good on that record
>>130414308At the very least BadMotorFinger is considered Doom (ex: Searching with my Good Eye Closed). Grunge isn't strongly defined in my book (at least with the big four), because you have Metal, Hard Rock, and Punk influences with varying degrees depending on the band with Alt sensibilities.
>>130414315For some reason I thought We Live was a Live Album. Almost as a play on words. My mistake for not looking past the surface. But whenever I revisit Electric Wizard, depending on my prior listening habits will decide if I'm leaning more pure Doom or more Stoner will decide which album I listen to, if not both.
I like Lord Vicar and Coffin Torture (and a lot of other Doom but those two particularly I rarely see listed)
>>130414506added them both, thank you for your contribution to my future Doom addiction
>>130414354Grunge was a marketing term not a genre
>>130414573It is, but there are still vague enough similarities that allowed for it to be a marketing term in the first place. Then the sound homogenized into Post-Grunge. Of course this is only my variation of a debated take.

>>130414167The first two albums from both Paradise Lost and My Dying Bride and Katatonia's first album. By no means obscure, but they're essential for a reason.https://youtu.be/hqTAxSNDfng?si=c8XN3uMOK3hcSirdhttps://youtu.be/nz_Mz7dJwMk?si=7DIaELq1XHaXf2mdhttps://youtu.be/TnqXkN1xpO8?si=M6mg1jEZJNX51hHkhttps://youtu.be/_jANaa0tDLk?si=aTXs27SLeQs9pt6Xhttps://youtu.be/xXCklLhCtkk?si=u9oFDg6cJ-A0tZ7O
